Yup. It often happens to actors after Bond. Reminds me of Moore turning up in the Spice World movie and Cannonball Run, or Dalton in Hot Fuzz, or Connery in Indy 3.
While we are on the subject, I wonder why Craig was chosen by Spielberg to play a cool assassin, or why he was chosen by Sam Mendes to play Paul Newman's son. And this was before Bond.
When Defiance tanks, that will be "another" Craig film bust. How many more before Hollywood gets it? Also, QOS is DONE in the UK, with only $78 million in box office revenue(vs. $106 million for CR). It is DONE internationally, down greatly in Germany vs. CR, and hit a low of only $362,000 here Monday in the USA. Only Japan and the Christmas to New Year's rush is left. Without inflation factored in, with higher ticket prices and much more screenings per day, The Bourne Mimicry is a BUST for Eon and I do not see how it can bring in another $70 million worldwide to equal, not surpass CR's total. MGW should take a nice long rest and take his moronic sister with him and let Sony bring Jackman on board in 2011 as the 7th 007( Jackman would like than connotation I bet). Well Sweeney, was QOS a bigger hit than CR?

Well, looks like we were both wrong. You thought the film would tank, and I thought it would surpass CR.....
Either way, the only thing that really bothers me is the film itself. Did it live up to my expecations? No. Was it better than CR? Not a chance!!
The film is a loss right now Sweeney, not a profit, and no way it can get to $650 million to break even now, without DVD sales help. Your opinion is NOT what you initially said after you saw TBM the first time. I guess you soured on it as you saw it over and over. Was 3 times the charm for you for this updated opinion?
I saw it 5(yes 5) times.I think I enjoyed it more on repeat viewings than I did initially.Go figure. While I will buy it when it comes out on DVD,it won't get many viewings(maybe once a year at the least).

Whether the film is a loss or not for Sony/EON, it still has done way better than you predicted at the BO itself. Therefore you have been proven wrong by your doom and gloom predictions of this film tanking because people don't like Craig as Bond.
You already know I've changed my opinion after repeat viewings. Third time was when I started to see faults in the film, yes.
A loss = a flop Sweenster. Way underperforming CR= a flop Sweenster.....this is how it probably all came to pass......September, 2005, in a villa in Italy, dinner between MGW, Amy Pascal from Sony, and Ms. Broccoli.......Ms. B:"so guys, I want Daniel Craig to be the next Bond for us, OK?"........MGW:"Why? He looks like Putin, not Bond, is too short, and has no classy looks as well, and is blond haired. What's going on Barb? Now I see why you were supposedly away on business the last 10 days and came home exhausted"........Amy Pascal: "What's wrong with Pierce Brosnan again, or Hugh Jackman or Clive Owen or James Purefoy or Sam Worthington, or people like that, if we try a new actor? Daniel Craig? Who is he?".....Ms. B:"he would be great as Bond for us. Trust me. We should also consider copying the very intriguing Bourne movie that came out recently. We now have the rights to Casino Royale so let's do something off the wall. Let's start over, forget Daddy's legacy, and reboot the whole shebang! The people won't care. They eat up anything we serve them anyway and keep coming back for more!"......MGW:"Barb, just give me a cameo and I will go along with anything you want. I am tired. I think I will take a nap out on the porch now"......Amy Pascal:"OK Barb, now that 'stuffy' is going to sleep, what gives with this nobody Craig and why sack Pierce now?"......Miss B:"Let me just say that Daniel is the perfect choice for this role and will come real cheap too. Pierce wants $25 'mill' and a percentage of the net too! Danny, I mean Daniel, comes for peanuts and I, I mean we, can control him.".......Amy Pascal:"So who is going to tell Pierce the bad news?"....Ms. B:"Leave that to me"........and so, history was written and we have the results before you........It's time to rewrite history again.

Really? And isn't IMDb owned by Amazon? It's like one of those award-winning Polish cartoons we had to suffer as kids (at least those of us who grew up in Britain in the '70s) where a fish gets eaten by a bigger fish which gets eaten by a bigger fish and so on for what seems like three bloody hours.

BJ, QoS has not flopped at the cinema. It's you wishful thinking again. Currently it is alongside TND and TWINE in terms of BO figures. In that case, are they flops too.....?

Depends. Did they have $200 million production budgets (in 2008 dollars)?
