Worst complaints of CR.

Post by stockslivevan »

Lately I have been seeing some people complain about Bond breaking through that wall "like the terminator!" as one of their complaints about the film. What kind of criticism is that? They were at a construction site and Bond broke through a very thin weak wall. Do you know how easy they are to break? One punch and you got yourself a hole on a wall.

Even the overused cliche "too blond, too short, too blah blah" is halfway more decent.

I think you fail to see the point Stock.

It's not the physical ability of breaking through the wall (like you stated - very easy) it was the fact he ran through it. Would any previous Bonds have done that?
“I'd like to thank the Royal Marines for bringing me in like that and scaring the s--- out of me,” Bond Hardman Daniel Craig.

Yes. Would you rather do some crazy slim jump over a very closed hole or just break through the d**n wall and get it over with? I thought that part was amusing because the freerunner could have simply done that instead of kept doing some tricky stunts. I don't see what was wrong with breaking through the wall, what should Bond have done? Walk around to find a doorway?

I would have preferred that this whole scene wasn't in the movie. people make fun of roger moore's safari suit, and rightfully so, but what was up with Craig's Hawaiian style shirt?

That was before he developed his sense of style. Clearly by the end of the film he grew accustomed to wearing three piece suits. That was the the point of the whole film besides him developing into the sophisticated agent we know. He was a rough Bas***d and the filmmakers wanted to show that not by his character but by the way he dressed.

Still it was impossible. A 30-year old military man is still rough, arrogant and egoistic? More of like a psychotic teen rathen than a military man. Even psychologist could tell that transformation of that kind of man into a sophisticated charming individual in instant was impossible just because his girlfriend dies.
BOND sells, NOT CRAIG
The reboot is a risky area, did Eon need to do it? NO. Did this confuse alot of people? YES.
The Bond character will always be anchored in the values of the 60s

Yes, a psychologist would probably say something along the lines and I'd agree. But when you're talking about a Bond film, that's ends the discussion.

none of this changes the fact that the Hawaiian shirt was as bad if not worse than the safari suit. It made me feel like Craig was miscast even more when I saw it.

i'm just saying it may be worse. I'm not really sure, since they both make me cringe.

It's not something I'd want to see Bond in alot, but it can't be any worse than this...
Image..fashion blinder.

As for Craigs shirt, I think the idea is that he blends into his surroundings better.

I thought they made CR to make James Bond more realistic.

You thought wrong. They intended to make the film more believable by grounding it more to the style of From Russia with Love. It still contains many of the fantasy elements such as the girls, the exotic locations, the cars, incredible stunts, evil villian that cries blood, the card game ect. The film is basically a more modern version of From Russia with Love.

This is James Bond, not Tom Clancy.

CR's definitely not in style with FRWL, not even its "modern version". CR is more likely, as you've said in the beginning, the "Terminator" version of Bond.
This is James Bond, not Tom Clancy.
Tell that to the Brocollis.

No he should have run around and found a doorway.

This guy is a former Officer in the Royal Navy or have you convieniantly forgot that.

It worked as a quick gag for Mollacka to do the acrobatic thing through the gap, and Bond to crash through the dry wall. It got the required laugh at every screening I saw for Casino Royale. If Brosnan had done it, you'd have loved it.

True to form, your wrong again.

I would not have liked that scene with any Bond. Furthermore, no other Bond would have done that scene.

A different scenario and different scene.

Like I said above. I would not have liked that scene with any Bond.
