Do you think (I'm asking Mr Ken Sweeney) that Craig's Bond in QOS is the finished Bond, or a more experienced Bond, if "finished" is a vague term. Many have said Craig's Bond is a little too psychopathic and violent. But it could be that he is on a revenge mission in QOS, and he is still a youngster (!) as it follows straight on from Casino Royale.

Good question. I'd say a more experienced Bond than CR, but still not the finished article until the very last scene.

I have not seen it yet, but I think they may have bungled the young Bond arc a bit, leaving many people confused.

Bungled is putting it mildly. Casting a 38 year-old as the rookie Bond was borderline bungling it but casting a 38 year-old who looks about sixty was bungling it on an unprecedented scale.

I think even if they'd cast a Worthington or a Cavill, the reboot would have been badly done. It was too "in your face" for my taste, meaning that when I was watching CR for the first time, I found myself thinking about things like continuity and timelines when I should have just been absorbed in the story. The casting of such an un-Bondian actor certainly didn't help, though. It was a double whammy when it came to what filmmakers would call "pulling me out of the picture".

I don't see anybody "pimping" Cavill here, most people seem to agree that he is too young-looking (though that might work in the context of an origin story); but he was one of the three serious contenders for the role of Bond number 006, along with Worthington and Craig, so I was just taking that into consideration when talking about what might have been. Of the three, I think Worthington was by far the best option, and have said so on many occasions.

What is weird about craig is he lokos so much older than he is. Pierce at 40 looked very young.

anyone seen the new hulk movie? that russian english commando who looks younger than the 40 years he was accused of being in the movie is actually 47. Not to miss adding he looks younger than craig.

I think a reboot with a director commited to a series taking bond back to the beginning is in order, as long as they get young actor in the role and put the fun back in the series.
Bond meeting Moneypenny for the first time and being smitten, then learning of the look but don't touch policy, wow that would be cool. A M slightly younger than he was in Dr No. Q, making Young Bond understand that these gizmo's can save his life. But not a crass Bond, a bond less sure of his role but keenly eager to prove himself would be ok. That was what was missing from CR. CR craig was a depressed neverwas ready to quit and feel in love with a weird girl.
Its not like bond left a cloister to go straight to MI6. or is it?

There was a rumour that Pierce would return as Bond and have another actor - such as Cavill - play a young Bond in some flashback scenes. I think that would have been fun; but anything is fun compared to Craig!

I sincerely hope you enjoy it more than you did CR, Skywalker. To be honest, I've absolutely no idea what many of you here will think of it. Some of you may think it was a d**n sight better than CR (despite the leading man), others may hate it more than CR.

It will be interesting to find out, that's for sure.....

I intend to watch QOS as a follow on to CR and not as a standard Bond film in the hope I won't be looking to pick faults throughout the film. I hope I enjoy the film and Craig's performance but the likelihood is that I won't.

I'm going to pretend that the lead character is a new creation that has nothing to do with Ian Fleming. I might enjoy the film more that way. Every time someone says "Bond" or "007", I shall mentally substitute another name. Any suggestions?
