It pains me to say this but I too must call for Daniel Craig's resignation. It's been a difficult decision but I think it's for the best if he moves on. He could make some more obscure arty type films.

Hopefully, these will be very easy for me to avoid.

Other than being very vocal in the past about Daniel Craig in the Bond role, what has made you feel this way Jim?
It surely can't be based on his performance in QOS, a film that no-one has seen yet. :?
Or are you simply jumping on the bash Daniel Craig wagon?
Being that the site is called DCINB I guess thats fair enough.
Go on have your fun. If the film is rubbish I'll at least have the guts to say so. But unless Craig gives a performance as bad as Pierce Brosnan in any of his Bond films, then I'll keep my opinion of him the same as ever. A great James Bond...the best since Dalton.

Blimey.................whats with all this negativity? :(

Here we go again.............making judgements on a film before we have seen it.

Didn't this happen before CR...........when people said it was going to be a disaster!!

Yes, i know the reviews have been very mixed............but its not a complaint about Bond, but of the lack
of some things in the film as humour, gadgets and the usual Bond lines.
I remember years ago, reviewers complaining about these things in Bond films.......its a catch 22 situation. :?

If you read the reviews carefully, the negative comments are based on the reviewers personal expectations in a Bond
movie.

Yes.........QOS, may not be as good a film as CR........but as that film was so good, that even if QOS doesn't quite meet
the muster of that film, then it will still be a good darn film!

Anyway, i'll tell you on Friday evening what the films like......OK

AB :typing:

ps:There's about as much chance as QOS failing at the BO, as me being abducted by aliens.

Eh, I don't think it'll fail, but I think there will be a lot of Bond fans that are disappointed by it.

At least Craig is not the one who appears to be a fault here, rather the writers and in particualar it would seem Forster in the directors chair. Maybe action is not his thing.
It's EON's,Forster's *and* Craig's(notice I put Craig's name last..)
Forester is first,Craig is next. He's out there taking credit for everything from the name to the director and direction.

I think you've taken my post too literally. I was just messing about with that running joke about people asking for DC to resign. I don't mind Craig in other films but I'm not a fan of his Bond and still feel he's miscast in the role (To state the bleeding obvious given the forum I'm on). If I like QOS I'll say so although the chances of that happening are dropping with every new review that pops up commenting that Bond barely cracks a smile in this one or the gunbarrel takes place ten minutes before the film starts and is hidden in the trailers etc, etc

It seems to me that with every sucessive negative review, the pro-Craigs' skins get thinner :?

Nobody asked you.
It's not a thin skin, the film is being judged by its reviews so far. So much for having ones own opinion.

Well, the thin skin thing is *totally* true. Whether certain pro-Craigs want to admit it or not :?

It can't be easy for the pro-Craigs to see so many bad reviews..and trying to back it up with silly things like its rating over at Rotten Tomatoes doesn't help their case much. I give people like the Sweeney credit because they''re taking a philosophical approach to this at the very least.

The ironic thing is that most here against Craig may not enjoy this film, those here for Craig may not enjoy this film, yet the rest of the movie going public might embrace it and make Eon very happy with a money maker. That scenario would make all of the forum sites fringe elements instead of mainstream Bond ticket purchasers that will either decide with us or against our views, on both sides of the fence. Eon may luckily pull off a financial coup with NO competition at all in November. If TBM under performs against limited competition, that will not bode well and the 'bell may indeed toll for Craig'.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association, the largest film critics organization in the United States just rated QOS which got a rating of 88. That's exactly the same rating as the rating of Casino Royale.

not familiar with them. But they gave QOS 87 not 88 (did it go down after you posted?). DAD 74. I don't even know what their ratings are supposed to mean. I certainly never went their to find out if a movie is good or not.

I'm not sure what good or bad with them.
Crystal Skull 76,Prince Caspian 78,Incredible Hulk 81,Dark Knight 96,Hancock 79, Sex and the City 80,Speed Racer 74,Spiderman 3 84,Superman Returns 89, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End 85,

I don't think the US screening has happened yet. If they have they can't use it until closer to nov 14th

For me the same rating as CR is not helping.

Not gonna happen I'm afraid bj.
Craig is not a problem. Fans like him, critics like him, the general public like him. Who knows this could be a great Bond film. I can't say I haven't seen it yet. But I'll be sure to post an honest review as soon as I do.

You meant as Bond right? Careful Nash, BJ would have thrown in another "Craig's non-Bond films keep flopping, general public rejects Craig" tirade!

Casino Royale was embraced by those who were apathetic towards the normal Bond film, especially here in the UK. They regarded Craig's Bond as a completely new action hero, so even if CR loving Bond fans feel QOS is awful, as BJ says, there may will be many satisfied members of the general audience - especially as there is lots of mindless action.
Bring back Bond!

There'll be plenty of non-Bond fan, popcorn movie loving people to make it a hit.But initial reviews don't lie(though some here may think they do :?)
