By the sounds of his overwhelming, gushing praise of Craig, this hardly sounds like someone is merely towing the company line but has a strong differing opinion, which would be more like -

`Why...ummmm...errr.... yes, I think he is quite a good Bond. Anyway, moving on....'

Kind of how he did with DAD. I find it strange, though, that Roger would be so fulsome in his praise of CR when he criticised fricking AVTAK, of all films, for being too violent! It seems at odds with his previously-expressed view that the Bond films should be light and fun. Don't you see a disconnect there? I'm not sure how to explain it. As you say, it doesn't sound like he's just going through the motions.

Sir Rog was quoted as saying that CR fitted in with the modern day world so to speak and that Craig was the Bond for the 00's.

Like Sweeney said, I believe it has to do with AVTAK being one of Rog's films. He came into the series with the intent of lightening up the character and his films and thought that having a one minute clip of Christopher Walken shooting down defenseless people didn't fit the tone at all, which I agree with. I've never listened to the Moore commentaries, but I'll do that soon, especially for AVTAK.

Sir Rog is punch drunk from all the abuse he has gotten since 1985. I don't think he'd lift a finger to say a bad word about anybody, it's just not his style.

Reading his piece it is clear to me he got "hints" on a piece of paper with company letterhead that was slipped under his door late one night. He could be a fan of Craig and probably is, but I noticed some of his wording falls right in to place with the emerging company line.
Also it seems awkward to write something unsolicited about "Don't Write Off 007".
Maybe he is talking more about himself with that title than Bond. I've always believed Bond would weather whatever the times brought, unfortunately the producer has gone walleyed on us.

Brozza can't bitch about nothing and keep working. Sony won't like it if he encourages people to avoid their films Bond or no. Unfortunately for Borzza some of his nuttiest fans were the loudest voices against Craig, so he needs to step doubly careful.

About what Rog wrote, it stinks. He can write whatever he want and is free to like whatever he wants. When he write something like this full of Eon talking points people are going to notice and questions his sincerity.
He is flogging a book, begging Sean to work with him in a movie and his son Geoffrey has(had) his own troubled production company.
He also recommended his son take up the mantel of Bond after pierce left, Looking at him it is clear why Eon rejected the idea immediately.


Sort of sad Sir Rog's last days are going to be remembered for him being a puppet.

Maybe this site should ask for equal time, Capt. Sir Dominic Flandry do you feel up to the challenge?

Brozza's son was recent, he (Boy Brozza) admits he needs to age in to the role. Connery's son, I'm not sure of.
Apparently Moore put his son's name forward, in private, for Bond before Craig was cast.

This may sound a little crazy, but you don't suppose for one minute that Moore actually could be speaking the truth here. Is it possible? Is it possible that another former Bond actor likes Craig as much as many others on the planet do? I know, it sounds crazy doesn't it. Who in their right mind would like such a nasty thing as Craig and CR. it just doesn't make sense.

There must be hidden agendas at play here. He must be doing it to please EON surely. How could Sir Rog POSSIBLY like Craig? How dare he!! It just doesn't add up....
