I agree. Lot's of females went to see CR because of that Craig coming out the water shot. It will be interesting to see if they all return for the next one.Captain Nash wrote:I guess it varies according to taste.
My sister-in-law works in an office full of women who have a nice big poster of Daniel Craig in the blue swim trunks hanging for all to see.
And you'd be amazed at how many not only think he's sexy, but went to see the movie on the strength of that image.
Could Craig destroy the Bond franchise?

Looks like that Irish girl is a nut case. The Sweeney wrote:There was an Irish girl I went to college with years ago. She used to be OBSESSED with Connery. And I mean obsessed. Worshipped the ground he walked on. I haven't seen her for a few years and then met up with her recently. Guess what. Connery is history. She now has a new male fantasy figure. You guessed it! Daniel Craig! I was suprised to see a huge close-up of him on her desktop PC, as I never thought she would ever get over her fad of Connery.paco chaos wrote:i just remember when "Casino Royale" came out, Daniel Craig was pictured on the front of USA Today. I picked it up and showed it to one of my female co-workers, and said,"does this guy look like James Bond to you?"
she replied, "I guess tall, dark and handsome is out, huh?"
Looks like I was wrong!

Funny how anti-craigs and craig-supporters seem to have opposite experiences concering girls' thoughts on Daniel Craig.
As for my experience, my mother didn't think the "blond Bond" had a chance until she actually watched it and by the time he was at the Bahamas in that white suit she started calling him hunky.
Now she thinks he is the best actor to play James Bond, which I happen to disagree with since I think Connery is god.
Besides that, I heard people talk about good things about the film and actor and so far, nothing negative came up post-release.

To answer the question.
The real question is Could EON destroy the James Bond franchise?
What I don't like about the James Bond's movie now is the fact that JB is always in concordance with his head office on his every moves. This started with Brosnan and continue on with Craig. To my knowledge, James Bond is a peerless agent who relies on himself. Bernard Lee 'M' gave 007 instructions and didn't need to supervise JB because he knows that he's the man of the situation. EON is now trying to imitate Bourne. Bad move because JB will become a regular spy.

I think it's impossible for one actor to destroy the whole franchise. The world was completly split when Craig got the part. It seems the world is still completely split. The mainstream media & bafta's love Craig & CR while a lot of Bond fans (myself included) have let their feelings be known of the dissatisfaction of Craig & CR. The film has made a lot of money, why ? because it's a Bond film, the first in 4 years , has a new actor & a massive publicity campaign. The franchise will only be destroyed if it goes bankrupt. The Bond juggernaught is too big for that to happen.Connery007 wrote:Thank you ID!

Unfortunately, that is true that fans have been divided 4 to 1.adam wrote:quote]
