I'm not tempted to buy the Casino Royale DVD, even though most supermarkets seem to have millions of copies on special display cases on sale for £5.99.
Have you watched it? Any interesting extras?

Great movie, terrible DVD. I think every Bond fan agrees that the special features, menu designs and such were sub-par, even the old 2000 Special Edition Bond DVDs were done better. Even the DAD had better DVD treatment. Thank god the film is good enough to buy alone otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered.
This was just lazy stuff and there might not ever be a better video release until Bond 1-22 in the future is repackaged for the Blu-Ray collection.

It's milking the franchise at best. They did the same with the old 2000 DVDs, suddenly they have more extras with the Ultimate Editions.carl stromberg wrote:Eon make me laugh with the other Bond DVDs; they have hours of material and just put a few snippets on the DVD extras!
It's a bit mean of them to rush out a quick copy of Casino Royale, and then - presumably - release an Ultimate Edition next year.
There might not be an Ultimate Edition until the format war's victor. Blu-Ray or HD-DVD, when one of those steps up like the VHS did against betamax EON will most likely release an entire new Bond collection with CR having all the doo-dads and depending on when this is released, Bond 22 might be included as well.
But this isn't the first time either. VHS versions always had the newer Bonds looking different from all the predecessors that were treated with the same artwork like the "Gold Edition" VHS releases in 1985, with TLD and LTK not getting the same treatment until the mid-90s when they rereleased every film along with GoldenEye in the same package designs with the 007 emblem right on top. Same with the 2000 DVD editions looking all the same except for DAD sticking out like a sore thumb with the different packaging.
EON should at least remain consistent with their merchandising.

Can anyone who has the DVD tell me if CNB gets any mention at all in the extras? I'm curious although my guess would be no.
I can't remember where I read it but I'm sure I heard that CNB got a very brief screenshot in the DVD extras somewhere in relation to Craig's 'road to becoming Bond'. I'm not sure about this so don't take me to the small-claims court if I'm wrong

Never mentioned by name, no. There was a mention of initial negative reaction from some fans, and the tabloids though, accompanied by some shots of gossip rag headlines. During part of the interview Craig admits to being shaken by the personal nature of the attacks, but states there was nothing he coud do about it, except try even harder to make the best film he could.James wrote:Can anyone who has the DVD tell me if CNB gets any mention at all in the extras? Looks like the DVD is on pace to set some records too. The Blu-Ray version will surpass the current "next-generation" best seller for first week sales, and the regular version is #1 of amazon.com's best selling DVDs.
