It's been well known, even in 2005, that Christopher Nolan is a big fan of Bond. With Marc Forster not returning for the next Bond installment, and with Nolan's "The Dark Knight" gonna be a big hit, would EON hire Nolan for the 23rd Bond film?
I don't think it's impossible, his name isn't a brand like how Spielberg quickly became a brand name in the late 70s. With his films mostly having a gritty tone and his understanding for Bond, Nolan would make a perfect director for Craig's tenure. It's a long shot, but boy that would be awesome if he got to work with EON on a new flick.

If Nolan really loves Bond that much, he might be willing to compromise on the "creative freedom" clause in order to direct one. Is there anyone here who would like Nolan to direct Bond 23?
I'd love Nolan to direct a Bond film but not with Craig. It's bad enough that Casino Royale finally made it onto the screen with the anti Bond so I don't think I could take a coup like Nolan doing being blighted by DC's presence. In all honesty though I don't see how Nolan could work with Barbara and hacks like Purvis and Wade and Arnold etc.
After Mike and Babs giving Marc Forster more control such as bringing in his own writer, I don't see why they wouldn't let a talented director like Nolan have a crack at the director's chair. And I get the impression you guys see Bond directors as mere puppets, you're really underestimating them.

It would be best if Nolan direct a Bond film with the 7th Bond actor.

I agree. I think they should let the Craig era play itself out before hiring the likes of Nolan so he could really make his own stamp on the Bond character.
It would be a waste if he was hired for Bond 23 with Craig.
Sounds like you don't want Craig to have a d**n good director at the helm to help increase the popularity of Craig with a smashing film.
Nah I understand your point. I still think Nolan is the perfect fit for Craig era. For those who watched TDK, anyone catch Bond references? I know I did.

Not a chance of that happening Jim. Bale, though a great candidate for Bond is highly unlikely to play Bond. He's already got the Batman franchise, I doubt he'd want Bond to. And of course he's probably too expensive for Eon to. Though I suppose it could happen.
Though Nolan would be a great choice to helm a Craig Bond film. Both are very dedicated to making movies, but making sure they make them well. I think teaming Nolan and Craig for Bond 23 or 24 would be a real treat.
Let's hope it happens. (Obviously that's for the pro-Craig fans. The rest of you will just have to post your usual tired responses).

Nolan would be an excellent choice to direct the next Bond film. Having seen TDK and already being a huge admirer of Nolan, he could create something special. That said, I would prefer Nolan to team up with Christian Bale again as he has in the Batman films and The prestige. There is a chemistry between them and Bale seems to excel under his guidance. I think DC would benefit from working with him too, but I'd rather it be Bale wearing the tux. Maybe Sir Michael would be offered a role too? I think Bale has no qualms about stepping into others shoes. He's donned the black cape and is due to play John Conner in the new Terminator film.

M? Or perhaps even P, for Sir Harold Palmer, the new head of MI6 - how's that for crossover appeal
What about Caine as Q?
In the Batman films, Morgan Freeman effectively plays Q, and I guess Alfred is sort of the equivalent to an M figure, in that he acts as an older, wiser mentor to Bruce Wayne.
