Our next Bond - Jack Barton. The animal magnetism of Connery.

"I can't do that superhero stuff" Daniel Craig
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I don't put much stock in this story. The six-name shortlist seemed to be mostly recycled from older stories, and how quickly it went down to three makes it hard to take seriously. If Barton actually was the mystery third name, it would mean that two of the final three had appeared in SAS Rogue Heroes, though the actor who played the most obviously Bond-like character in that show, Connor Swindells, has never been mentioned in any of these clickbait articles, as far as I'm aware.

You're going to have to deal with the fact that whoever is eventually chosen is going to be around the same age. They've been saying so for a long time.bjmdds wrote: Thu Aug 27, 2026 3:34 pm This kindergarten teacher is a joke! He belongs teaching first grade in London!

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Knight Edge Media has exclusively learned that Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts, Neuromancer) and Jack O’Connell (Sinners, 28 Years Later) are two of the three actors still in the running for the role. We have also learned there is a third dark-horse candidate who is currently unknown, and we couldn’t verify who it would be from the previous shortlist. The studio did narrow it down to the final three actors as of last week. A small heads up: Jack Barton is the youngest and least known of the entire list and could have an edge as the unknown dark horse, but that’s pure speculation........Amazon and Pascal are idiots and Pascal thinks she can turn the Bond franchise into a Holland kids stuff Spiderman type of franchise where young kids rush out to see someone their own age. WRONG IDEA!

Apologies if you've seen this before. Chanel ad from 2024 starring Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie that's apparently widely seen as Elordi's Bond audition. I just found out about it today: https://youtu.be/fo4LLux-tfM?is=4cNgVcNwk9S0vnCP

Of the mentioned names, Jacob Elordi is probably the one I'm leaning towards- if only because he fits the traditional "tall, dark, and handsome" mold. But to be honest I don't think I've ever actually seen him act in anything.
My fear is that the producers will feel traditional Bond has already been done to death and try to reinvent the wheel. In other words, they'll try to recast Craig the actor instead of Bond the character by going with another unconventional choice.

Agreed. The odd-looking Callum Turner seems to be the frontrunner. I console myself with the knowledge that frontrunners don't always get the part. But I'm worried that this time, the "insiders" might be right.Jake wrote:Of the mentioned names, Jacob Elordi is probably the one I'm leaning towards- if only because he fits the traditional "tall, dark, and handsome" mold.
