Nothing specific is mentioned, only a generalized statement. This was added: Knight's interactions with the SAS may offer some clues about how far back the next movie will go, as he admitted that he has been given a license to take the story in an entirely different direction.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
What if M assigns Bond to a mission that he has no personal connection to?

That would be shocking. And going back back back? With some of the fanboys who are so obsessed with going back to the “true” Bond..they would love it.Not that it’s gonna actually happen, mind.

Whoa there friend, let's not get ridiculous!
On another note I personally can't wait for the role to be recast so Daniel Craig will no longer be "the face of Bond." Every YouTube thumbnail, listicle or "news" item I see even incidentally referencing Bond has Dan's pasty mug in a shark skinned sausage casing tight suit looking like the over stuffed wiener he is.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The next story in the James Bond universe has officially been revealed. The official release date and synopsis for author Charlie Higson's upcoming 007 novel, titled "King Zero." This comes ahead of Amazon MGM Studios' highly anticipated James Bond movie from Dune director Denis Villeneuve, who is currently searching for the next actor to succeed Daniel Cr-egg as the iconic spy. Per The Times of India, Higson's first full-length James Bond novel, "King Zero," will officially launch on September 24, 2026, from Penguin Books. The story will feature the legendary agent going up against a powerful villain unlike anything he has ever faced before. Before this, Higson previously wrote five novels in the Young Bond series, which followed a teenage Bond during his time at Eton College. The novel's official synopsis reads, "Le Chiffre. Dr No. Goldfinger. James Bond has faced them all. But now the world is changing, and even 007 has no idea what's coming for him. It starts with a murdered agent in the Saudi desert. Only a traitor could have known enough to bring him down. But even James Bond can't guess at the secret that was worth killing him to keep. As Bond follows the trail across the globe, he doesn't realise the countdown has already begun. And hiding in the shadows is a man with more power than he could ever have imagined. Prepare for a villain unlike any before. Prepare for King Zero."

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Tom Holland admitted there is one factor that makes the situation complicated. Amy Pascal, whom he described as his “absolute ride or die,” is involved with the Bond franchise. The actor explained, “The thing I’ve found really difficult is that Amy Pascal is producing that movie. I am trying to be respectful of my relationship with her and that this is a professional thing. I don’t want to overstep in any way.” Despite those reservations, Holland said he would be open to taking on the role if he were offered the opportunity. He noted, “I think if you were lucky enough to get that job, like, who am I to turn my nose up at the most iconic British character in modern cinema?”-----this clown, 5'8" tall and weighs 140 lbs, actually thinks he could portray the role of Bond and not be laughed at! Talk about a deranged ego!

I'm confused. "I love Amy Pascal. I don't want to be Bond if she's producing". Uhh, what?bjmdds wrote:Tom Holland admitted there is one factor that makes the situation complicated. (I still think Callum Turner would be worse, though).

I think Holland's too short and too associated with Spider-Man to be a serious contender. That said, his recent Esquire cover had him looking much better than Craig (who was also too short for the role!) ever did.

Patrick Gibson's role in the recent First Light video game actually reminded me of Holland throughout. I also noticed that one problem with making Bond too young as the game did- or spending too much time focusing on his "pre-00 days", as the recent rumor suggests- is that the character ends up feeling more like Eggsy from Kingsman than Bond.
I don't mind the new film providing an origin story (if only to firmly erase Casino Royale from the timeline) but here's hoping they don't go overboard with trying to reinvent the wheel. There's nothing worse than an origin film where you really only get to see the character shine in the last act!

He absolutely ruined the uncharted movie. I don’t think he’d be under serious consideration for Bond if any one it Amazon mgm is really trying to relaunch the brand.

Mike Myers just kind of self-destructed 20 years ago. He’s like the first actor to sell his image and likeness to a studio and then quit making movies.kater23 wrote:Apparently there is going to be a new Austin Powers movie, 20 odd years after the last.Over unders on which comes first?
Only thing I can guess is he finally ran out of money.
It’s kind of funny how Austin powers got into Bab’s head so much.

As I remember it bond was not supposed to be the reason behind the missions just someone who was along for the ride.dirtybenny wrote:Whoa there friend, let's not get ridiculous!

I think bond had two problems in the movie series , first was after bondmania in the 60s , mgw and others were too selfaware that bond was a hit, and that reflected some in Roger Moore’s time as bond. And started self correcting when Timothy Dalton took over.
Second was Babs was too hung up on the image of bond her daddy created and the shame she felt when she was among her peers who didn’t like it. So much so that she had to radicalize bond to be a self Center self important caricature. Which ironically imho is a reflection of her.
So for her bond, every mission was Personal and every mission was about them.
