How suave is Daniel Craig?

He's very suave (he's suaver than Peter Bowles at a suave convention).

Audiences were obviously bored by a suave Bond.

I find Craig suave, but at a different level. He's certainly showed them at fine points such as when he's charming the receptionist lady in Casino Royale. Most of the time he was more of a rough guy. There have been talks of him becoming a bit more suave in Bond 22, but thankfully at a believable transition, I would hate it if they had Craig suddenly turn Moore suave, because that's overkill for Bond. You have to keep Bond dangerous and keep a balance and Moore and Brosnna were totally unconvincing for me as a tough guys.

I don't think that is likely to happen.

I found the scene with Craig "charming the receptionist lady" the final nail in his suave coffin. In that particular scene I can picture any Bond from Connery to Brosnan, wooing said strumpet and being convincing.

With Craig I half expected him to try and sell her a radio from the Lexus he ripped off in the parking lot ;)

I agree with the sentiments expressed by Dr. No is this post. If you are going to cast Mr Craig as Bond, do not try to put any suave Bondian scenes in a Bond movie. :D

Daniel Craig's Bond is about as suave as Norman Bates.

For me this is the defintion of Bond. Bond is cool and suave not a generic tough guy. Daniel Craig comes across as a thug who can barely fit into his tux. The scene where he admires himself in the tux is unitentionally hilarious because of his lack of suaveness.

What I find strange is that his Bond wasn't meant to be suave. I believe M referred to him as "a blunt instrument".

Are we supposed to accept Craig swallows a sophistication pill in the half hour between CR's end and the start of QOS and is suddenly 'Mr Sauvé'?

My fear is that we will end up with this...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=G09fo-lOrP0

The thing is, he went from suave to chav and back again throughout the course (or should that be coarse?) of CR. He was suave in the PCS and, as Stocks said, to the hotel receptionist, but in other scenes he barely seemed to know the difference between Dom Perignon and Dom de Luise.

 There's no saving him.

I keep forgetting the PTS. It's almost like a "This is what you could have had".

I think Daniel Craig's 'odd man out' aura is illustrated by stockslivevan's signature. Connery and Dalton look as if they playing the same character. Craig looks like Stan Laurel.

The recent 'Art Of Bond' book is the most surreal example of this. All those Bondian pictures...plus several huge photographs of a rubber faced man with a buzzcut. Shocking!

He did slightly ruin the Art of Bond book. I have seen it being sold for next to nothing but did not want to buy it.

Did it come with a free black marker pen to scrub out any offending pictures?
