This is what Sweeney classifies as Bond material? He looks WORSE than he did in CR, and I did not believe this could be. :(

Making a James Bond film (supposedly featuring a "youngish Bond still as well I believe) with someone who looks like that playing James Bond does seem to be pointless.

How does he look worse? He is still Daniel Craig, only the hair is not as short and spikey, and he is now wearing a more Bondian outfit than what he wore in Madagascar.

So how is this worse? Did you prefer Craig looking torn, bloodied, battered, scruffy, dirty, wearing casual outfits instead?

Sweeney, seriously, look at Craig here, ON LOCATION as Bond. This is not a question of varying opinions to a Picasso painting, but a question about a supposed handsome British secret agent. Look at him. Don't you see why this IRKS so many here?

I know he doesn't look traditional like Brosnan - that is why it annoys people on here, I accept that.

But I'm afraid I'm sold on him now as Bond, and I actually thinks he looks cool in these pics, much better than the early pics I saw of him in CR.

The one below reminds me of Fleming's Bond, the pic that is studied by SMERSH in FRWL, describing Bond as a `nasty looking customer.'

That is the great divide here Sweeney, we can't get past this. Add on a different storyline, a different timeline, removing 'iconic other' characters, and you have a totally different genre of Bond.

I know. I understand that, and respect it.

I accept that, and am all for it, having not been happy with anything EON have done with Bond in the last decade.

I think he looks great in the first few 'spy shots' we've seen of Bond 22.
I like that his hair is a little longer.
This is James Bond. The new James Bond.
Brosnan was a good Bond for his tenure, he gave us some decent viewing, but times change. A new actor has too take on the role at some point, and that actor IS Daniel Craig.
He may not be every fans ideal Bond, but he's won over countless fans and members of the general public alike. If you didn't like CR, then I doubt you'll like Bond22. You can whinge and moan as much as you like, but understand you are the minority it would seem.
Why should it all change, just because a few people can't accept the new guy?

I must admit the suit is an improvement, but he looks more like a German toothbrush salesman than Bond.

Perhaps he's undercover.

Being anglo-saxon, I don't think I can be called racist for saying Craig looks German!

He looks like a stock Fleming villian rather than the Fleming James Bond or the popular culture Bond.

Audiences seem to enjoy a less than handsome, short working-class everyman character as Bond nowadays. It's pointless, IMO, to have someone who looks like Craig as Bond.

5'11'' is still considered short for you guys? I had no idea the average height went past that. :P And less than handsome? The ladies would disagree.
