I dunno, it’s not like Matt Damon or Craig really pull it off either

They found the type of character they were looking for. This Stephanie Patrick is an emotionally unbalanced spy who goes loose cannon after they kill somebody she cares about. That's what they're trying to do with Craig's Bond for 13 long years. I'll be glad if they invest that sort of ideology in this female spy they want, and leave Bond alone. There's a safe chance Annapurna's involvement with MGM won't include Bond. The last thing the Bond franchise needs is an aggressive SJW filmmaker like Megan Ellison to have a say in any matter. As if Amy Pascal wasn't enough.

The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......

Atomic blond and JLaws new movie are supposed to be big female spy’s. Trouble is most spy movies except for James Bond do not make big money. Bourne is light years behind bond in BO too.
I doubt Craig’s bond if launched in 2006 without 40 years and the bondmania of the 60s would made a impact or found success. Part of his success is how unbond like he is after 40 years of a pretty set formula.

Yes, but that thing has pretty much worn out. The thing he has been doing he's been doing it for four times.

"James Bond goes rogue in search for a domestic and simplistic terrorist who has a personal connection with him. A mole within MI6 is also suspected to be existent."

This is the premise of all the Craig films in a nutshell.

Here we go again gang, and it's a biggie :!: -----Dustin Hoffman has been accused of sexual harassment against a 17-year-old intern in 1985. Writer Anna Graham Hunter alleges that the actor, now 80, groped her on the set of TV movie Death of a Salesman and spoke inappropriately about sex with her. “He asked me to give him a foot massage my first day on set; I did,” Hunter wrote in the Hollywood Reporter. “He was openly flirtatious, he grabbed my ass, he talked about sex to me and in front of me. One morning I went to his dressing room to take his breakfast order; he looked at me and grinned, taking his time. Then he said, ‘I’ll have a hard-boiled egg … and a soft-boiled clitoris.’ His entourage burst out laughing. I left, speechless. Then I went to the bathroom and cried.” Hunter detailed Hoffman’s alleged treatment of her over her five weeks on set in a diary that she mailed to her sister at the time. “Today, when I was walking Dustin to his limo, he felt my ass four times,” she wrote. “I hit him each time, hard, and told him he was a dirty old man.” She claims that on set, she was told to put up with his behavior by a supervisor who told her to “sacrifice” some of her values for the sake of the production. Hoffman has responded to the article with an apology: “I have the utmost respect for women  and feel terrible that anything I might have done could have put her in an uncomfortable situation. I am sorry. It is not reflective of who I am.”-------that's it? He's sorry? :cuss: Image Image

Multiple people were shot on Wednesday inside a Walmart store in a Denver suburb, local police said.

Police in Thornton, Colorado, did not release any information on the number of victims and it was not clear if an assailant had been taken into custody, taken his own life or been slain by officers.

"We've got multiple parties down, we're still trying to ascertain what their conditions are," Officer Victor Avila of the Thornton Police Department told Reuters.

True, but at least in DAD it was done tastefully. If it's done once per 10-15 films, it can work nicely. But, four films in a row with incoherence? That's a big issue.

Yep! It's the current producers' belief that agency leaders are not to be trusted, so Bond always goes on his own. Some agent, eh?

He’d be in a off the books black operations jail for the rest of his life if this were “real and gritty”.

He'd be in jail for many things for his behavior in Quantum of Solace and the entirety of Skyfall where he actually walked away when MI6 was threatened. Or kidnapping M to a mudhole where she was easily killed. He's a disgrace, not a heroic agent. But, hey... Nolanites and pseudo-intellectuals love it.

To be fair, so would the classic Bond (you do know there's no such thing as a licence to kill, right?). But at least it wouldn't be for dereliction of duty.

True. But, the thing is, the Classic Bond didn't try to portray realism. At least not since Goldfinger. In his universe, there 'was' a license to kill.

Bond's remark to Scaramanga comes to mind:
"When I kill, it's on specific orders of my government. And those I kill are themselves killers."

Bond has a "license to kill" within his organization of course. You could call him a state terrorist if he kills people in cold blood on behalf of his country. Most of the time Bond was sent to investigate stuff though, he wasn't sent to assassinate people.

Anyway I also think Thunderball was a realistic Bond film, more realistic than GF which had more larger than life villains and so on. Of course GF was more realistic than most of the later Bonds though, but still it has a more camp and comic book feel to it compared to TB.

TB is a Bond movie for adult people thanks to the direction of Terence Young, and most of the technical gadgets in the film was real. The Aston Martin in GF was not implausible like some gadgets in later Bonds but it was still only a movie prop.

There was a couple of parodies from Italy of GF in the 60s.

James Tont Operation U.N.O. (1965) and Due mafiosi contro Goldginger (1965).

A day after Jeremy Piven was accused of sexual assault by an Entourage actress, the Wisdom of the Crowd star is today facing new accusations from Longmire’s Cassidy Freeman.

“Predatory behavior is a chronic way for you to seek power,” wrote Freeman on social media on Wednesday of Piven, claiming an unwanted interaction of a sexual nature with the actor in the past. Freeman also defended the allegations by reality TV personality/actress Ariane Bellamar.
