Kind of you to put it this way Sween. I think every Bond actor is only as good as their last film. Obviously Barbara and Michael have an interest in Craig beyond the usual, they started a fan civil war and have had to fight for just about everything since with the studio. Part of the problem to my mind is they are too unwilling to change with the times as producers. I am not talking about not using 3D, I happen to think they are right not to leap on this fad (watch Michael come out tomorrow to say 'it's 3D cause that fans love Daniel's face so much!' ) . What I mean is they make movies like they are still in the 1970's, they got away with it in the 1990's because times were good, times are not so good right now, the studio almost collapsed twice since 2004 and Eon productions has to have 200 million dollars to make a movie. Granted it is not the money it used to be still it is a hunk of change. The Sweeney wrote:I mentioned this in another thread, but something in my water tells me Skyfall will bring in similar numbers to both CR and QoS, which will lead to another outing by Craig.
I appreciate he will look even older by then, but I think he will do a 4th Bond film. I know this is not what everyone here wants to hear, but that is my gut feeling.
A 5th is a stretch, so I'm taking this comment by Wilson as the usual positive spin comments during production to build up hype. No way on earth will Craig do 8 films, but another film is looking likely, assuming Skyfall hits similar numbers to Craig's other 2 films.
What worries me about Eon is they have no plan beyond the next moment, they rush into production with unfinished scripts and quite possibly their attachment to a man will cost all of us the series. Still I think this fluff about Criag is the usual MGW smoke and mirrors, I remember talk of Piece surpassing the Moore record, however that was so long ago now it is hard to imagine one actor staying for more than three or four films.
