Was it true, that he was the Original choice. He has unfavourably been compared with DC but Patrick Mcgoohan has a more manly face, don't you agree.
Why did he turn it down, but I think his TV serie DangerMan and The Prisoner were great ... for its time.

Now he was a real good looker wasn't he, he was over 6ft but he was a manly blond. I have heard it was him who told the Bond Makers to see Sean Connery.

Mcgoohan had something DC has not, Sex Appeal, but why in God's name did he turn down Bond? Would he of been good, I thought John Drake was really cool.
Now Sean Connery has it all in many ways, real sex appeal but I have heard he is a wife batterer.

The most commonly reported story is that, as a devout Catholic, he objected to Bond's womanising, but there was a thread on alt.fan.james-bond that appeared to debunk this as a myth.

Post the link please, but he was great as Danger Man wasn't he, and was it him who told the casting agents to see Sean Connery instead.
How can some compare the looks of Mcgoohan to DC, and yes they were both blond but so was Roger Moore. Mcgoohan was his own man and bright with it.
My aunt had a thing about him, ever since he was in the Saint.
Who is that ugly sod in the banner? Is it DC?

Here you go. The consensus seems to be that the real reason was that he had clashed with Terence Young in the past.

Thank you, but I think Mcgoohan was better looking than Moore, he was more manly to look at. And yes he is a devout Catholic which shows at least he has his morals and pride.
But you have not answered my question, who is the man in the banner???

Any one enjoyed watching John Drake???
I did, and I felt that at least this guy looked very sexy by not trying to hard. Patrick Mcgoohan was a real hunk and at least he could act and write good programmes like the Prisoner.
Some morons are comparing DC to Mcgoohan, they need a trip to the optitions. And what is this DC doing a Ursula Andress in Casino Royale.
The theme song was crap, the Bond girl may off been a looker with no sex appeal and Bond himself looked like the builder down the road.

I loved
The Prisoner, only ever saw a handful of
Danger Man episodes (including the one shot in Portmeirion that first gave him the idea for The Village). Did you ever see the
Simpsons episode where McGoohan guest starred as a barely-disguised Number 6?

No I have not, but I have just started to like Mcgoohan, I find him coolly attractive.
But you have not answered me, who is the guy in the Banner with the other Bonds?

All I see is a black square where the banner should be, for some reason, so I'll let someone else answer. As far as I remember, it's Daniel Craig, but without actually seeing it, it's hard to be sure.

If you are referring to the the bottom left corner, yes it is Craig.

Looks like Spike Millingham in that photo.
What do you think of this photo, very Bondlike.

But John Drake is a class act too.

He was a tall blond but he was manly with it. How can someone compare him with DC?

I have read that mcgoohan was a friend of Sean Connery, and it was him who told the makers to see Sean Connery.

In many ways it was really Sean who was great for bringing Bond on the Big Screen.
I know I do prefer the looks of Mcgoohan, but Sean Connery in FRWL was really oozing the sex appeal and he looked like a man not to be messed with. Loads of women still fancy Sean dispite what his ex-wife has claimed about him beating her up for some reasons.
Imagine if Mcgoohan got James Bond and insisted no violence or kissing, but at least Mcgoohan is his own man. But the actor (Mcgoohan) was a close friend of Sean and Roger.
By the way is it true that DC wants to turn Bond into a bisexual, if that is true BOND IS FINISHED. DC I have heard was handpicking the girls, and the reason Shilpa Shetty was not picked was that she would of towered him. She is 5ft 10ins. My husband really fancies her, and so does Cary Lowell's husband.

No, that was just a stupid media rumour that has been repeated ad nauseum on the Internet (including this site, I'm ashamed to say).
