Would you like to see a non-Eon Bond film or (live action) TV series? Any suggestions?

I always supported eon's series, up until Craig. Before Craig I couldn't imagine them imploding the series like was done. Lack of imagination on my part.
Would I like to see a non-eon Bond?
Yes, No, maybe.
For us CR is like a independent production. I would like to see a non eon production if it is closer to past films. Wouldn't like it if it went further astray as CR did.
my answer is a resounding maybe, it depends.

Agreed. But only if it was made by a British company, and syndicated to the US. I think Granada, who made the Sherlock Holmes series in the 90s with Jeremy Brett, would be good.Harvey Wallbanger wrote:I would like an Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 TV series true to the stories set in the 50’s & 60’s.
It couldn’t be the regular TV networks (ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS). Maybe the BBC-A&E, or a premium network like hbo-showtime.

A tv series going through the Fleming novels and set in the same time period as the novels.
I think it would appeal to alot of people, but it would have to be faithful to Fleming. I'm surprised no-ones done it before...I guess Eon likes to keep the rights to Bond close to home.
As for a Bond film outside of the official series I think NeverSayNeverAgain answers that question. Do we want another film like that?

On a tangent, I'd like Pierce B to star in a film as an 'unnamed Bond' .... the story: he's been retired from the Service. "Bond" could have the sort of adventure that Pierce has always dreamed of. It would ideally have John Barry to score and Peter Hunt directing. If PB is interested, I would gladly get the ball rolling!
You move very well for a dead man, Mr Bond

I'd like to see a Bond film done by the Carry On team, directed by Gerald Thomas, and starring Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor, Bernard Bresslaw, Charles Hawtrey, etc.
What's that??
They've already done one, I hear you say? When? I must have missed it??
What's it called??
Ahhhh......Die Another Day!
Right. I must look out for that one at some point. Sounds like it might be quite fun. Has anyone else seen it.....?

I would have said Moonraker myself. And of course we had Sid James in Casino Royale. The Sweeney wrote:I'd like to see a Bond film done by the Carry On team, directed by Gerald Thomas, and starring Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor, Bernard Bresslaw, Charles Hawtrey, etc.

Ahhhh......Die Another Day!
"He's the one that doesn't smile" - Queen Elizabeth II on Daniel Craig
Anyone who adapts a story from one medium to another becomes an interpreter to a certain extent. No adaptation can ever be completely faithful to a book, since what works in a book doesn't necessarily work in a film. The much criticised deviations from the book such as relocating the climax to Venice are among the things that I think CR actually got right (yes, Sweeney, I can say good things about CR!). I'm pretty sure that Cubby and his "Bond family" would have done the same thing had CR been adapted on their watch.Dr. No wrote:A series on the books would be cool.![]()
No interpretations only what is in the books.

And yet ironically that scene was the one I wasn't too pleased with in the whole film. I wish it had stayed closer to the downbeat novel version.Kristatos wrote:The much criticised deviations from the book such as relocating the climax to Venice are among the things that I think CR actually got right.
