Michael Fassbender

When Craig finishes his run I'd like to see Michael Fassbender take the role. He's got that steely toughness and Bondian attitude that I think would be appropriate.

Two unconventional Bonds in a row would be too much although he's nowhere near as weird looking as Craig.

Have you ever seen his performance in Inglourious Basterds?

The fact that you think he should be given the role based on his performance as a Nazi speaks volumes about the way the pro-Craigers see the character of Bond.

I do not know this actor. He doesn't have the Bond look, not form those pics. He looks more like Face Man for the Ateam
Hang on I'll look him up
He is young born 1977, 6feet tall. Raised in Ireland, Born in Germany.
found a couple more pics
He was in Band of Brothers and 1 episode of Ncis. I don't remember him.
I just don't see Bond in the pics so far. Is the clip you are talking about on you tube?

Unfortunately I have yet to find any clip of his performance. The two pics I have up are from the scene I described to Kris.

He was playing a British spy disguised as a Nazi.
You really ought to see his performance. There's a great bit where a Gestapo officer finds out that he's not a Nazi officer and so Fassbender stops speaking German and says
"Well, if this is it, old boy, I hope you don't mind I go out speaking the king's? ".

I might give it a rent. Gotto be one I keep away from the kids though. He was 6 moives coming out in the next 2 years. But so far he really reminds me of Dirk Benedic. Not that that is a bad thing. Not for me any way.

I'm surprised some folks haven't even seen Inglourious Basterds, it's a great film and deserving of its Oscar nomination IMHO. Watch for Melanie Laurent and Christoph Waltz, after seeing them you'd hope they end up in a Bond film as the female lead and villain.

I want to see it, but there are lots of movies that I'd like to see. Until I get a job, that's how it'll have to stay. It's complicated by the fact that my wife hates Tarantino. There are some things you forgo for the sake of domestic peace. I'm sure any guy who's married or in a relationship here will know the misery that the womenfolk can inflict on us when we want to watch a "guy flick", though they think nothing of making us sit through one crappy romcom or "disease of the week" movie after another.

I haven't seen the film either but I take it he's a lot suaver than Craig? It's just that when people start talking about steely toughness and Bondian attitude, as they do with DC a lot, I always suspect the subtext is he's not exactly Cary Grant in the old looks department. Call me old-fashioned but I think James Bond should be handsome.

As far as I'm concerned he looks fine, it's really how he carries himself that win my vote. Looks shouldn't be more important than performance. Afterall Fleming himself disregarded Connery until he actually saw him at work. Don't dismiss him so easily just from a photo and see for yourself, I think he has what it takes.

Stocks must be having a laugh. Fassbender would be a great antagonist and he was very good in Inglourious Basterds but not Bond.

For me, it's more that he's what I call a "flavor of the month". One of those actors who you can't get away from since they're always on the gossip websites and whatnot(see also:Robert Pattinson.)

I stand by my statement about flavor of the month actors.

And others that are wrong for the the role(too old, too ugly, too bald, or a combo of all three).

Why should bald people be excluded? Sean Connery was balding when he was Bond.
And I don't know how a vague statement like "flavor of the month" is relevant. Besides, he's a much better choice than a lot of the favorites of DCINB's alternatives.

One of my pet peeves is actors who are endessly pimped because they were in some popular movie
That's me stating my opinion.Nothing else.

I'm not just supporting Michael Fassbender for his solid performance
Inglourious Basterds, I'm also supporting him because he would make a good Bond.

If you have nothing to add, do not reply!

Eon needs to be specific: No bald/ugly, fat, overly popular(delete as applicable) actors need apply.
