How about Dirk Benedict? He could have appeared in Octopussy if Roger had turned it down.

Yes! He was OK in an episode of Hammer House of Mystery and Suspense (the one with the tatoo). He wouldn't be my first choice (!), but he would have been fun.

I don't know if he ever tested but he claimed that Broccoli offered him the role in the early eighties.
