Craig: 'Fame is a pain in the ass'

Daniel Craig has claimed that becoming James Bond has meant that he is unable to leave his house without being recognised.

The actor told The Sunday Times that "life just got flipped on its head" when he was cast in the iconic spy franchise.

He said: "All of a sudden, everybody recognised me. I can't go out without being recognised. Simply put, it's a pain in the ass.

"You can't have the sort of spontaneity of saying, 'Let's go to the pub.' People say, 'You're an actor. Isn't that what you do?' But I don't do it to be recognised. I do it because I get a kick out of doing it.

"I'm not moaning, but I have had to reassess the way I look at the world, the way I live my life. I knew I would, I just didn’t have a plan for it."

I think I have read that before. But what gets me is that anyone would even mention it. No kidding your life has changed. You don't have to worry about paying the rent now either, or if your mum can afford a new hip.

I get that not being able to pick up some crisps at the store without a hassle is a pain in the ass... but surely you don't need to mention it. Seems strange to me. Yes, being rich and not recognized would be the best of both worlds. But I think most of us would rather be rich and have a bit of trouble going to the pub than struggle to survive and have privacy.

Retro, strange and Craig go hand in hand, you know that. He complains or curses so what else is new? He should kiss the ground that Broccolli has no taste in men or else Sylvia, Infamous, and Flashbacks Of A Fool would be his rather poorly paid resume.

I like Craig, think he's a good actor... but I don't need to know his every waking thought.

He's famous it is intrusive but if you live your life in the public eye like Craig does everything you do is under the microscope
