James McAvoy

As some of you know after watching a few of Gerard Butler’s movies I become quite a fan and thought he'd make a very good Bond. Especially if they were going for a rougher edge.
Butler caught my attention bbecause of his smaller roles like Timeline were he was very memorable in a relatively small part.

Now a new name has come to my attention, I almost hesitate to say it but I nominate Mr Tumnus. That’s right, the Faun.

My opinion of him comes from watching recent interviews. He is very charismatic and funny.
He doesn’t have what I’d consider the look for Bond. But that doesn’t seem to matter much any more. Hes a little short but then so is that other guy ;)

What I consider him qualified for is a young Bond begining his career. I don’t know if he’d be an action star material, I guess his new movie will be the proof or not. I think he'd be very good at playing a young James Bond where the height and other issues aren’t as big an issue.

I tired to find the best pictures to illustrate my case. It was hard to find a decent picture of him in a suit. At least in suit without a goat looking beard.

And here is a young Bond with Vesper

He looks like a young Jason Isaacs, whom I always thought would make a good Bond in the vein of Timothy Dalton. I dunno if McAvoy could be Bond in the future now that he's becoming a well known film star, which EON tends to avoid. And he would be the first actor to share the same name of the iconic role. :P

Always liked Isaacs. He'd be a great M. IMHO

PS bring back Dalton as a villain. He’d love it!

I know plenty of actors played different parts in the Bond films, but I think the Bond actors should stay out of that territory.

Mcavoy is prfereable to some of the pretty boys who have been suggested for the next James Bond :?

but some people would prefer that Craig was Bond for a while, even 'till he's over the hill like Roger Moore-I love Rog but he was too old in AVTAK.Whatever .:?

Wow, we agree on something. Give McAvoy a couple of years and he'll look mature enough for James Bond. Like I said, he looks like a young Jason Isaacs, in a couple of years he should look no different. :)

I don't think McAvoy would be a good fit. He could be a interesting Bond given the right circumstances, as Dr said.
As stocks said maybe if he looks like Jason Isaacs in a few years he'd be a better fit.

McAvoy's more of a LOTR material.
