I don't know how they're gonna make this one good, I don't know how they're gonna be able to rectify the 6th film, they screwed up the most important entry in the series and turned it into hogwarts bandcamp, even if the 7th film is ok too many important elements that were meant to be in the 6th film were left out.Kristatos wrote:I'm seeing Harry Potter on Dec 5th. 'Quantum' UK box-office record set to be broken by Potter
Quantum Of Solace - 20-11-10
The latest Harry Potter movie looks set to smash UK cinema box office records, according to studio estimates, reports the BBC.
Warner Bros said Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 took £5.9m on Friday and £6.6m on Saturday.
This already breaks previous records of biggest Friday, biggest Saturday and biggest single day.
With Sunday estimates of £4.9m it is on course to beat the previous record of £15.3m for a three-day opening, held by the James Bond film Quantum of Solace.
In the US, the latest Harry Potter film took an estimated 125m (£78.2m) on its opening weekend.
It is the best opening weekend in the US for the film series' history.
In the UK, the previous record for the biggest Friday was held by Quantum of Solace at £4.9m.

I bet it has better legs than QoS too. And I'm not referring to that premiere photo of Emma Watson in a mini-dress.

You should be glad that DC didn't become the sexiest man alive during his 5 years of Bond.bjmdds wrote:A lot of Green Lantern chatter going on with Reynolds.

I wouldn't mind Routh back but I think they want a clean break from Superman Returns. It's possible Henry Cavill might come into the frame. No one will ever be as good as Christopher Reeve though.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
All the articles about Bond VS Potter got me thinking about it Potter in 10 years made 8 movies that will have grossed over 6 billion dollars across the globe by the time the 8th movie comes out in July. Bond made 3 movies and maybe 2 billion dollars in the same 10 years. Maybe 4 movies if 2012 comes off without any problems.
It's not a fair comparison Bond biggest days were with Connery and since then it has been hit or miss. What it does do is bring the short coming of the current heads of the Bond to light. 3 Movies in ten years it should be 5 movies at least, the ten years previous had 4 movies and that was after the last melt down where Bond was off the table for 6 of those years. 1960 had 6 movies, 1970 5 movies, 1980 5 movies, 1990 3 movies, 2000 3 movies. See the pattern? There is a problem with Bond and it is the people behind the cameras running things.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I saw HP today. OK film, but some middle parts dragged a little. It is funny why JK wrote the 3 teens doing most of the dirty work to save the day and no adults that really do much. I just watched the entire Avatar film on HBO. It is the Blue Man Group meets Dances with Wolves(as someone said here) meets War Of The Worlds. Utter and complete trash of a film. It stunk.
I am fed up with Cameron and other Hollywood directors attempting to make the American speaking human race the evil villains. Enough of this liberal BS already. The film was 100% political and I thought Titanic was boring too.
The coming attractions today of The Green Hornet
in January looked poor but the summer film The Green Lantern
actually looks good for Martin Campbell.

As much as I love and enjoy Mr. Cameron's Avatar, this is a better Avatar:
And I highly recommend it.

Speaking of The Green Hornet, I think Hollywood has lost its way by remaking classics like this.

The Green Hornet COULD have been great but casting Rogen was as bad as Cr-egg.
