Opening day. First screening. Unless of course I get an advance screening ticket like I did with CR.

Doesn't matter really to me, it's a Bond film, if I can't see it a.s.a.p then it's not good enough. No matter who the actor or what the style is.

What great casting Jaws had though, Shaw, Dreyfuss and Scheider are simply brilliant in my eyes. It's one of the best ensemble casts I can think of.
Shaw made a great villian in films, Grant and Quint are his best. Such a shame he passed away at a relatively young age. Very talented man.

By the way, do you rate the Godfather trilogy high Nash? If so, I have a trivia question for you.

Far from that Nash, I can assure you. Upset about Campbell's departure? Are you one of those Tarantino supporters for Bond? After Pulp Fiction, I cannot see him directing Bond.

I can't think why anyone would want Tarantino to direct a Bond film. He's never shown anything that suggests he could make a decent Bond film.
I'd be happy with someone like Mark Forster or even Roger Donaldson as a future Bond director. Maybe even Roger Michell for Bond 23?

Tarantino offers many differing attributes that could well be utilised in a Bond film. His scripts and plots are great and his ability to tell a story is superb. He generally gets the best out of his actors/actresses and works wonders with unknowns.

His film style is quite quirky, yet is cool. Now after CR, cool would be good addition. Whether Tarantino’s style would fit a Bond movie, is open to debate. I personally feel he is an extremely talented guy, who if given a chance, could create something special.

Just because he has never done something so formulated, does not necessarily mean he can’t do it.

He also re-launched Mr Travolta’s career.

I think his track record of successful films is impressive and he is a very good character driven director.

It's not that I don't like Tarantino, and maybe if given the chance to he could do it. But I have yet to see anything from him that suggest he could handle an action film like Bond.
You think that CR was a departure from 'the old school' Bond, I get the feeling that if QT made one it would be very different to the style that many here like.

Would you prefer a 'new' director for Bond 22 or would you prefer a previous Bond director, such as Apted, who directed some of HBO's Rome, with James Purefoy to boot, as a lead character, who once auditioned for GE?

I would prefer a 'new' director for Bond 22. Apted is a good director, and while TWINE is certainly not a bad Bond film, the drama and such like that he directs and the action from the second unit didn't seem to mesh for me.
Some of the action set pieces seemed tacked on. But I did like the film better than TND and DAD.
He'd be on a list of previous directors that could come back for me.
Unfortunately both Terence Young and Peter Hunt have sadly passed away. Lewis Gilbert, Guy Hamilton and John Glen seem to have retired, and I can't see Roger Spottiswode or Lee Tamahori returning to the fold anytime soon. I'd say Campbell and Apted are the only two who should come back.
My money is on Forster at the moment, he seems to be the favourite, and I think he could do a very good job. Maybe as Bond fans a few more, if not all would be pleased. Maybe not all, there's no pleasing some people.

Why do you think Eon constantly changes directors, instead of utilizing the same one for several in a role? Maybe there would actually be more story continuity if they did that.

Well John Glen had a good run. Five Bond films back to back. They were all enjoyable, and TLD (A Bond great) and LTK an unsuccessful attempt at a change to the formula, and a much darker Bond film than the norm were both very well made and enjoyable.
But I don't think that directors want to be making the same films all the time. Sam Raimi has been stuck making the Spidey films and number 3 was really a number 2 if you know what I mean!
Saying that it would be good to get someone like Campbell who I think really understands Bond to make a couple in a row.
Can't see it happening though.
