Perhaps his showreel will refresh your memory.http://www.vicarmstrong.com/?page_id=91
Didn't help. Other than the opening bit of the men marching in Gangs of New York, I don't see anything quite spectacular.
He also directed, uncredited, the opening scene of Terminator 2
Pretty unimpressive if you ask me. It was basically a retread of the same battle done in the first film only with naked terminators.

To me, Vic Armstrong is to second unit as David Koepp is to screenwriting. Overrated.

Oh really? Was DAD pulled from theatres day 46 like TBMQOS just was? Check out boxofficemojo.....cannot find any revenue for yesterday......Which was the REAL dud? DAD or QOS?

You know what the answer is BJ....don't keep watching CR then.
I think you are more obsessed with Craig than the pro-Craigers are on MI6.....
I watch it to see what the Craigaholics are so fascinated with and I cannot find anything to support your beliefs.

A happy New Year to all by the way. We may joust our opinions, all in good fun I hope, but at this time of year at the point in time we all share, I wish health and prosperity to all, and remember my sentimental friends, that the greatest gift of all is health and may we all be blessed with that in 2009. Nash will ring in the New Year first, followed by the UK gang, then us NYCers, then California Katied. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I'm talking about actually BO admissions. CR and QoS has pulled in the same amount as Brozza did in his first 2 films.
Or are you disputing this fact....?

I stand corrected BJ. Craig is MORE popular than Brozza was after 2 films. Someone posted this on MI6. How accurate does this paint a picture...?
The best way of judging box office for the films. these are how many millions of people actually saw the films. i took the average of ticket price in that particular year and divided the final box office the films made to get this number.

Happy New Year to everyone

I've already got most of resolutions for next year(same as last year: keep working out, eating well, staying up to date with doctor's appointments, making a will, which I meant to do this year, and added a few(read 50 books in 2009,which is ambitious, admittedly, but I've already read one of the books in the Twilight series,am nearly done with the second and intend to start my 50 book challenge by starting the third(Eclipse)on New Year's Day. )

I was intending to quit drinking caffeinated coffee, but I'm *way* too addicted to Starbucks, and the fact I got 2 $10 Starbucks cards in my stocking(a fundraiser for my nephew's school)doesn't help :P

And with a studio budget, so that it didn't look like something out of a Tom Baker Doctor Who episode.

Well, one thing I noticed in all those scenes was an ability to stage complex, fast-paced action scenes in such a way that the audience could tell what was going on - an ability that would have enhanced QOS greatly.

Boxofficemojo did not list it as earning anything, Variety.com had it earning a few tidbits. The gang at MI6 is looking for a nice Christmas bonus from Eon I bet for spewing out the Craig spin machinery in 2008. On to 2009 and see what Eon is up to now.

I should point out that "N/A" on Box Office Mojo stands for "not available" rather than the usual "not applicable". I've been caught by that a few times.

A check of movie theaters reveals that QOS is only showing a few times a day at most of the theaters here, and at odd times, too.

I was able to tell what was going on in QOS. Maybe I just have a more sharp eye? Then again maybe I'm just used to it by now because I've seen it used so many times in other mediums. One example is the Battlestar Galactica remake series which utilizes shaky cam, especially during intense scenes.

Certainly puts things into perspective. Such a shame that Dalton wasn't even given a chance.

AVTAK deserves to be low on that list. I'm surprised to see LALD so high.

Crooked governments (they invariably are!!!) and others constantly use statisitics to prove their point.

As an example: With the set of figures given above, I can remove the Chinese Box Office Figures for Quantum of Solace as only the last few Bonds have been released in that country.

Quantum of Solace made $20000000 in China. So dividing the that figure by the average ticket price, it gained 3.6 million admissions.

NO...........its not a good point.........you should take into account the revenue opportunities a film has in its era.

There's never ever going to be a direct comparison!!

i.e. prior to the DVD and Video era people had to go to the cinema to see a film, now people can bypass the cinema and wait for these other mediums to view the films of their choice.
