As Benny said, you can have an AI villain or a period setting, but not both. Personally, I think we've seen enough satellite-mounted lasers in the Bond series. Mission: Impossible may have done AI, but Bond hasn't.

One year ago this month the announcement was made of the sale of the franchise from Broccoli to Amazon.....Statement then: She’s not only severing herself from the franchise but the rest of the Broccoli family, including several young potential heirs — Broccolini — like Wilson’s son, Greg, who sources say was being groomed to take over the business, as well as a niece who also has worked on the movies. “To tell you the truth,” the source tells Rambling Reporter, “nobody knows why Barbara did it. It doesn’t make sense.”--------one year later and still no actor has been announced.

Is the summer hear unbearable?

Summer temperatures in SC regularly top 100F, with 100% humidity.

Even A/C only goes so far in those sorts of temperatures. Cooler than outside, but still hot.

On an unrelated note, I've been deleting a lot more bot posts recently, and getting more warnings from Bitdefender. These things are often a precursor to one of out periodic site crashes, so be warned.

Amazon shutting us up before they anounce the 12 year old they picked to play Bond?

Another Broccoli underling Billie EYE-lash made a fool of her demented self again at the Grammy awards Sunday when she said "NO ONE IS ILLEGAL ON STOLEN LAND". Well, it turns out the demented moron who looks like Wednesday Addams in her rancid attire was unaware of something: Following this speech, critics on social media pointed out that her own residence—a mansion in Los Angeles—is situated on land historically inhabited by the Tongva tribe. Critics challenged her to "give back" her estimated $14 million mansion if she truly believes the land is stolen, leading to the viral narrative about her house being on "Indian land". Image This clown and the rest of the Hollywooodnicks should learn once and for all to shut the hell up because "NO ONE CARES WHAT THEY THINK"! This is not a good sign. Would Villeneuve have cut lines like "No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die" or "Choose your next witticism carefully, Mr Bond, it may be your last"?

Not a good sign at all, it's the dialogue that sets Bond apart from his peers. Sure it may be a bit cheesy at times, but without it Bond ceases to be and becomes just another action figure no different than any other.

Yes, and Steven Knight writes terrific dialogue. It'd be a shame to lose it.

Insiders say Lauren Sanchez now has a strong say in who will be the next actor to play James Bond. Sources claim that since Amazon took creative control of the Bond franchise, the internal power structure has shifted quietly but decisively. At the front of that change, insiders say, is Sanchez, the wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, whose personal taste now plays a key role in shaping the next era of James Bond. Lauren Sanchez doesn’t want the next James Bond to have ’emotional luggage,’ says source. According to multiple sources, Sanchez has a very specific vision for the next James Bond. “She wants someone who commands a room before he says a word,” an insider said. “Not someone who looks like he’s carrying emotional luggage.” The decision about the next James Bond isn’t happening on social media or in public casting talks. It’s being decided by Lauren Sanchez. That vision reportedly rules out several fan-favourite names, including Jacob Elordi. Although insiders acknowledge Elordi’s talent and rising profile, they insist he does not align with Sánchez’s idea of what Bond should be. “Once Lauren makes up her mind, the conversation is over,” one source claimed. “Buzz doesn’t matter. Awards don’t matter. The decision is already made.”.....she has more sense than Broccoli did! Image

Source? Sorry, but remember that bogus story about Jeff Bezos pushing for his missus to be the next Bond girl? This has a similar whiff of bovine fertiliser about it.

However, sources close to the project have pushed against Shuter's claims, commenting that Sanchez is actually not involved in the casting process, as one insider told the Daily Mail, "No, she's not picking the next James Bond. And no, she's not going to be a Bond girl either — except maybe for Halloween."

Of course it's all hearsay, one set of anonymous "insiders" against another, but this version sounds more plausible to me. Studio heads don't typically get involved in casting decisions, let alone their wives.

When it comes to the bottom of the official James Bond rankings, one film consistently comes last. Roger Moore’s final outing as 007, A View to a Kill (1985), is the lowest-rated Bond movie on IMDb, sitting at around 6.3.
