Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I think Maxwell herself suggested it. I did once have an idea of Eva Ruber-Staier's Rublevich character working her way up through the ranks (so to speak) to become Я, head of the Russian secret service. After all, what's the point of having a general as your sugardaddy if there's nothing in it for you at the end?Irony-man wrote:They have been talking about Moneypenny taking over as M since Lois Maxwell's days. It is similar to Joe Biden's plagiarism. How is that allowed? Rip off of Kong vs. Godzilla? Where was this shown?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
It's made by The Asylum, who specialise in these sort of "mockbusters". Now that DVD sales are in decline, it's not so bad. I don't think people are likely to mistake them for the real thing on Netflix or wherever. But in the fairly recent past, you would see movies like Transmorphers or Snakes on a Train on supermarket DVD shelves with packaging misleadingly designed to look like the movies they were ripping off. I've no idea how they got away with it for so long.bjmdds wrote:It is similar to Joe Biden's plagiarism. How is that allowed? Rip off of Kong vs. Godzilla? Where was this shown?

There is or was a company doing the same thing with Disney movies, they’d take the copyright free fairytales make a clone of the new Disney movie, my niece got upset because she saw one in the cheep dvd bin she didn’t understand why we wouldn’t buy it because it was “Frozen her favorite”

In all fairness I can't say the author's examples are all gems and of course he has to state the "universal truths" that CR and SF are "modern classics," but it's interesting to see the mask starting to slip, a few years ago it would have been unfathomable to criticize his highness Craig's masterpieces.Kristatos wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 7:48 pm From Screen Rant, 10 things that don't make any sense about the Craig Bond movies: http://screenrant.com/confusing-things- ... nd-movies/

At the risk of sounding snarky and cynical (for once unintentionally) Babz would be doing this poor chap a favor by ignoring this request. Honestly, forgetting all the rumors about Bond dying or having a daughter or tampons etc. Just in what we see in the trailer alone should have every Bond fan running for the hills! Smarmy little Ms double oh whatever dressing down everyone's favorite agent and his bum knee, not only the return of charisma vacuum Madeline Swann but also a back story to boot! More scenery chewing from brother Brofeld and the added bonus of a visibly bored Craig obviously phoning it in long distance for no other reason than the money as stated in his infamous interview.
With hindsight being 20/20, attempting to preserve my Bond fan innocence I wish I had stopped somewhere after Tomorrow Never Dies.

That thought did cross my mind, but it seems churlish to deny a dying man his last wish.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
There was something similar with the last Star Trek film, or maybe the that was a remake of wrath of Kahn. The director had a special showing for a dying fan. It’s always a one off. the directors every movie sequel are inundated with real and fake requests.
I’d feel kind of bad it’s crappy remake of a better film like Star Trek into darkness or awful defying expectations last Jedi, or pure garbage like justice league.
May not matter to certain fans but there was an original experience that got them hooked, most of fans like us are hoping the creator recapture the magic so we can experience it again. For me every other bond movie was epic, if I hadn’t been disillusioned with the franchise I too would be thinking the next one is going to get the series mojo back
It’s a tough call, and in the scheme of things what do a few months or a weeks matter to the movie. from release day on its history, within a year the business aspect of a movie is done and it’s the public who live with the either enjoy it or not.
Think of all the time devoted to making movies and tv, only a small percentage is ever rewatched generations later.
So I’d give the guy his moment even if it spoiled whatever surprise the producers wanted.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Billie Eilish has been dealing with backlash in recent days. The No Time To Die singer caught flack by dating Matthew Tyler Vorce, an actor and writer who was found to have used anti-lgbtq slurs and more on social media years ago. He has since apologized. Then, people started looking into Eilish herself, with one social media user sharing a video of her speaking in gibberish, at age 13 or 14, that came off as an anti-asian slur as well as seemingly mouthing a racial slur. She is now on an apology tour herself.....so the WOKE morons are eating their own now and they are being forced into what to say and who to date
Everybody has to love everybody? What kind of sick lunacy has the left mob created whereby even a loser like Eilish, one of their supposed own left-wingers, is attacked by a SMALL group of disgruntled and disturbed individuals
Who cares what they think

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I agree Babz should let this poor soul see the film, if for not for the moral good, then for no other reason than the good publicity it will bring and lord knows they need it. After a troubled production that was so bad people questioned whether it was cursed to the multiple false starts on the promotional campaigns this film has garnered no momentum. EON has gone so far as to abandon the traditional ad campaign in favor of a 10 million dollar gala premiere, so granting a dying man's last request would only help matters and be well worth any possible "leaks" of information everyone already knows.
I'm just saying personally (and perhaps selfishly) as a Bond fan I wouldn't want my last image of the character before I shuffle off to the Universal Exports office in the sky besmirched by what is sure to be one of, if not the worst film in the series and considering the quality of the last few that's saying something.
