About Scott Adkins, a friend (who's into martial arts) pointed me to a site. Looks like this Adkins dude been has going around campaigning to be Bond with some photo shoots at Shepperton Studios. Here's an example:

The photos are by a guy who specializes in martial arts photography. I have no idea if Eon is aware of this photo shoot. Here's the site:

http://www.mikeholdsworth.com/scott-adk ... st-version

In terms of action, yeah he could pull of the Bondian stuff. I"ve seen him in budget direct-to-video action films, and he's good in the fight scenes. My problem with him is he reminds me of this guy from Mork and Mindy:

Eon and MGM look to be zeroing in on the director who will be taking the reins for the next James Bond movie. While insiders say others are still being considered, sources tell Variety that “White Boy Rick” director Yann Demange is the frontrunner to take over the next installment.  The series is currently looking for a new distributor as well, as its deal with Sony has run out. It is believed that Warner Bros. is the closest to landing the next movie. Image George Simpson of the Express: What’s really interesting is that the favourite, Yann Demange, and David Mackenzie have both directed films (Starred Up and ’71) starring British star Jack O’Connell. With this in mind, there are reasons the 26-year-old actor could be announced as the new Bond in a few weeks.....(No way this 5'8" child is Bond :!:) Image

Hibernating MGW speaks: "When we hired him, he [Craig] went into a six-month physical thing that really transformed his body. I've never seen anything like it. He must have added, I don’t know, 10 inches to his thighs and the whole chest. He actually transformed himself. And he kept at it. And he eats this scientifically controlled diet all the time, and he goes to bed at nine o'clock at night when he's making the movies. He's like a monk."

Who better to helm the next Bond film than the director of White Boy Rick and Starred Up? No, me neither.

riiight. He keeps having to work out for eight months to get in shape for each movie because he keeps at it?

Reading this article I honestly believe the author never saw a Bond film let alone Kingsman and was just writing off of the IMDB synopsis as well as what their SJW pals say at cocktail parties. Speaking of cocktails WTF does this mean "weird taste in beverages", are you referring to Martinis? Yeah, who drinks those anymore? He follows up later on with: "His one-liners and fancy cars are not enough to stir my Martini - if I were to ever drink such a thing." Once again we're talking about Martinis not Fuzzy Navels! Those comments alone tells me you have nothing intelligent to say on the subject.

The author starts as most SJW Bond haters do by disparaging his upper middle class upbringing. This guy follows up by exalting Eggsy's lower class origins, the irony is once he becomes a Kingsman, Eggsy exudes the trappings of the upper crust, he's ten times as posh as Bond ever was! As short as this article was it managed to pack 10 pounds of ignorance into a 5 pound bag!

This however was my favorite line: "Bond was a spy for post-war veterans. Eggsy is a spy for enlightened millennials." First what is a "post-war veteran?" you are ether a war veteran or not you can't be a veteran after the fact! Also god forbid heterosexual men who served their countries have a fantasy figure. Next Eggsy is "enlightened" how? I don't recall him doing or saying anything particularly "woke" as the kids like to say these days. A little more on this "enlightened" business, Eggsy's from a housing estate, I don't know about Great Britain but here in the states the projects as they're called ain't too progressive. At any given moment you can hear all manner of racial, homophobic and sexist epithets getting bandied about without hesitation. And where exactly in the pantheon of enlightenment does the scene at the end where the girl he rescues offers up anal sex as reward for her freedom?
On top of all these points, consider this: Sky News is 39 percent-owned by 21st Century Fox (Rupert Murdoch). The company wants to buy the rest of Sky News. Meanwhile, 21st Century Fox also owns....20th Century Fox, which just happens to release Kingsman movies.

That could explain why he's writing so enthusiastically about a film he doesn't appear to have seen. He's probably writing to a brief.

was going to say why bother writing it but..., entertainment media (including sports) are all about the PR fluff. Being part of the corporate team to separate people from their money.

We've talked about this before but I heard it put a different way, it's something like of the billions of dollars made from movies it's only 0.02% of the population who go to the movies why do care so much about movies not even 1% of the population of earth will view?

Thinking of it another way 2.2 billion christians, 1.8 billion Muslim, 1.15 billion Hindu, 495 million Buddhist, but for the most part entertainment, government and laws ignore the beliefs of 5.64 billion people of the world for the views of maybe a few hundred million.

Oh, another weird thing is how disproportionate some religions are represented.
Judaism is may have fewer believers than native America Indian believers but the Indians do not get any respect for their traditions. Usually some d'bag archaeologist writes a idiotic theory that inevitably dismisses centuries of culture and oral tradition as superstition. No archaeologist would be as bold enough to dismiss Islam so flippantly.

Or they are represented in slightly patronising "wise and spiritual" manner. Wonder Woman had a Native American character, but he wasn't given much to do.

true although at least they admitted the white guys people killed the Indians people, not such a bolt step for PC Hollywood. BTW I say Indians because most of the Native Americans I know actually like it better.

Thinking about WW they could have had the Native American say something maybe recognizing the real god or the fake God she was hunting but it's not a major point he was a token player. I think the only major Hollywood movie to take Native beliefs seriously was Thunderheart , well and the leaphorn and Chee Navajo mystery books made in to PBS movies.
Powwow highway was really good but it's a independent movie, and rare, I sold my DVD copy when I needed cash.

Weird bit of trivia, thunderheart and the Navajo mysteries were made in part because Robert De Niro lent his name to the projects. Maybe he did more but he never was a glory hog about it.

Dunkirk is a good movie, one of the most disjointed in time movies I've ever seen but that's part of the tension. It's not a ra ra blood and gut war movie in some ways it's too d**n real. Kind of like American sniper, that's not a pro war movie either

Got to see Bane captured by ze Germans. Is there a movie Nolan wants Tom Hardy for that does not require him to wear a mask and augment his voice?

touché, rumor has it :)

You know for as much as bond fans worship Nolan, I'm not so sure they'd be happy with his bond. His Batman begins is his most straight forward movie, even the rest of his Batman trilogy is a little unorthodox, but look at interstellar and inception, he can go a little wild with context. d**n good director but there's a experimental side to him we don't often see in commercial movie making.

I have mixed feelings myself. The main point in his favour as far as I'm concerned is that he has all but said that EON can either have him or Craig, but not both. However, I'm not convinced that Tom Hardy would be much better. Nothing I've seen him in suggests that he can do suave and sophisticated. Christian Bale would have made a better Bond, but that ship has probably sailed.

I don't think Tom hardy is a good choice. But on the scale of 0-10 in the better than Craig Meter he at least moves the dial.

Nolan likes to work with a lot of the same actors , I get it he knows them and is comfortable with them knowing he can get to work without the learning process. I could see him wanting Tom hardy , or Cillian Murphy as bond

But unless Nolan is creating a new template for Bond to follow for another 20 movies I do think another one off bond universe is the answer.

If I want a Nolan-directed Bond film, a period piece is more appropriate.
