I still have to delete the top and bottom black colored ads on this forum to type in the reply boxes. They are appearing on other websites now as well........I found the video scene from Shane that Logan watched, while web browsing for information, as well as the quote reference at the end. Image "There's no living with a killing," Shane tells Little Joe, and Logan echoes in a speech to Laura. "Right or wrong, it's a brand, a brand that sticks. There's no going back." For all the deification going on in Shane and Logan, both heroes make it clear that there are some actions for which there is no redemption.

I just watched Star Trek Beyond for the first time. It was on the EPIX cable channel. How was this pile of trash ever allowed to be produced :!: :cuss: To start, the homosexual homage to Sulu in the film had no reason to be in this film. It was just another liberal Hollywood stunt to push their agendas and it did not work one iota, ala this new innuendo in Beauty And The Beast as well. The Hollywood staunch liberal Chris Pine is DREADFUL as an actor, and as Kirk, and belongs back on a high school stage. The plot is moronic and cumbersome and the film cinematically has constant dark landscapes which make you lose focus of the characters amidst all of the explosions. It lost money and good riddance to a reboot that totally failed. If they actually make another one, as was suggested with George Kirk as one of the main characters., they are out of their minds and deserve to lose more money on this garbage. Utter and total trash :!:  :cuss:

Produced by New York Theater Workshop with the additional backing of James Bond franchise producer Barbara Broccoli, the high-concept treatment updates the classic drama by transporting the action to a modern-day army camp. In this barracks setting, Shakespeare’s great military hero, Othello (Oyelowo), is unmanned and undone by the treacherous Iago (Craig) in full view of beefed-up soldiers wearing army-issue camo and big, black boots. She even defames Shakespeare's work :!: Image

That doesn't surprise me. Movieguide strikes me as being much more black and white in its thinking than Hollywood Jesus. The latter's approach is to examine a movie's themes and characters and look for resonances with biblical imagery. Movieguide, on the other hand, simply counts up the amount of sex, violence and bad language in order to tell you just how outraged to be.
I going to go out on a limb, this critic has yet to see Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood.

I am not a fan of the reboot even I liked the movie more than this. Of the trilogy it was the most like a original Trek movie while still supplying spacious plot holes and wiz-band Star Wars action I have become accustomed to from Nu-Trek.

I mostly disagree with this, but I do have some sympathy for your position. I'm not a huge fan of the "characters in a movie watch a movie that influenced it" trope myself. It seems a little on-the-nose for my taste. But it's not like they simply remade Shane, they created a new story that happened to share some plot points and thematic elements with it. If they hadn't explicitly referenced Shane onscreen, it might have seemed more like plagiarism than homage. Nothing is truly original, everything is influenced by something. I guess the makers of Logan thought it was better to wear their influences on their sleeve rather than trying to hide them.

The Power Rangers movie is making big waves for the LGBT community. Somehow it's 2017 and the film marks the first-ever superhero movie to feature a gay protagonist character........how predictable was this? They just don't stop combining political theatre in action movies :!:

I saw the trailer for the new CHiPs movie (which looks dreadful, btw), and it looks like they've made Jon gay in that as well. I don't believe there's some grand conspiracy to turn movies gay, however. I think that Hollywood has just sensed the way the wind is blowing (remember all those rainbow avatars on Facebook after the Obergefell decision?) and is reacting accordingly.

Chips (the tv series) has a great theme tune. Bruce Jenner was in it too - what happened to him?

Reuters, which had photographer on the scene, reported two people on the ground on Westminster Bridge near Parliament, bleeding heavily. A dozen armed officers are inside Parliament, including one who was stabbed inside the complex; the assailant has been shot. May was in Parliament when the violence erupted.

“It sounds like this was an attack with guns and remember, in Britain [firearms] are very tightly controlled. It’s not just somebody who has lost their mind, a psychopath,” Bob Baer, CNN’s intelligence and security analyst told Wolf Blitzer. “I would say right now, I could be wrong, it was an organized well well planned terrorist attack. first reports are always corrected later on but that’s the way it sounds to me.”

According to eyewitnesses, the SUV drove over the bridge, mowing down people on the bridge, and continued until it hit the barrier surrounding Parliament.

“How do I tell people what I’ve been through?” Jenner told Sawyer. “Today’s the day.”

ABC’s special edition of 20/20 will air Friday, April 21 at 10 pm ET. Jenner’s memoir, “The Secrets of My Life,” will be released on April 25 by Grand Central Publishing.

sadly they might apologize to the terrorists.

The regular army kind of Brit is a tough fighter you do not want to piss off, the politicians I'm not so sure they don't see appeasement as the best course of action.

The British people are tough and have dealt with terrorists before, during the 2000's there were terrorist attacks I knew a young woman from England her sister was in London during the attacks what the lady would have done to the terrorist for endangering her sister, well the terrorists would regret pissing off educated women not under the thumb of a patriarchal theocracy.

But the politicians in charge have increased the police state but do not seem to have the will to address these kinds of threats, maybe because Tony Blair was such a lapdog for W Bush's war effort.

Having just got out of work, and this is the first I've heard of it. I checked the BBC website, and they explicitly use the words "terror attack" in their headline, if that helps.

The U.K. And European press seem more open to saying it plainly, the press here would wait on the government officials to decided what they want to call an attack, some are "workplace violence " for political convenience and the US press would hate to be inconvenient to their political friends in power.
