I noticed one of your favorite movies was this:which do you prefer? http://youtube.com/watch?v=6RwFsIR604A or http://youtube.com/watch?v=2be6jGwLoJ0Captain Nash wrote:I'm not sure how Dame Judi feels about continuing with the role. She's really grown on me over the years, I didn't really like the change in GE, but she's got better with age...and time.bjmdds wrote:When should a new M be instituted, before or after Craig's run as Bond ends, and should the next one be a man, or will Broccoli continue on her path with a woman running the MI6 show?
If QOS is her last Bond or if she stays on for Bond 23 then I'm fine with it. But if they do replace her I'd like to see a man back in the role of M. Nothing against a female M, but when you've got an actress as good as Dame Judi Dench in the role, then it would be a) hard to top, and b) why bother when you already have Dench.
The only other female I could see or could even be capable of playing the role would be Mrs.Bond aka Dame Diana Rigg.Yep. I could see her in the role. Easily.
As for a male M, Martin Shaw, David Warner or Michael Gambon would fit the role imo.

I never saw the film, but I loved the TV series when I saw them as a kid. I'd like to see them again and the film.
Funny though, did see The Odd Couple II but I can't remember much of it.

Indy 4 is getting better reviews now, so I suppose there's no worry. Can't believe it's only 4 days away, I've never felt so anxious to see this flick until now.

Maybe. Hopefully bigger than Iron Man. I don't know about it becoming the BIGGEST OPENING EVER, though that would be awesome.bjmdds wrote:Could be the biggest opening EVER in the history of the cinematic universe!

"Biggest opening ever" records are being broken every couple of months, as ticket prices go up at far above the rate of inflation. Inflation-adjusted totals are the only ones that interest me when talking about all-time records.stockslivevan wrote:Maybe. Hopefully bigger than Iron Man. Even while inflated, it's still tough to "break" records. The ones that managed to do that recently were Pirates of the Caribbean, Spider-Man and Shrek.Kristatos wrote:"Biggest opening ever" records are being broken every couple of months, as ticket prices go up at far above the rate of inflation. Indiana Jones might have a hard time convincing the kiddies that he's better than the superhero costumes and swashbuckling, unless their parents have the Indy DVDs.

Reviews from Cannes are not overwhelming, but stated it is typical Indiana Jones.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
To me it sounded like everyone was looking forward to the second coming instead of a simple Indiana Jones film. I never thought we'd have another Raiders, but if on par with the sequels then that's just as good. All I want is a good time at the movies. I never understood those who thought the old Indy films had anything "deep" or whatever, maybe nostalgia deludes people into thinking they're more? That's a factor that didn't benefit the Star Wars prequels.

Boxofficemojo rates it as A- and great fun, but states not to try to get too involved with the plot's complications and just enjoy it. Can it possibly top Spderman III's $151 million weekend USA opening?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Whoah, Scott Holleran gave a movie a good review? That's no mean feat considering the guy is notorious for hating movies. In general. Another movie site even had an entire article about him entitled "What the f**k is wrong with Scott Holleran?"bjmdds wrote:Boxofficemojo rates it as A- and great fun, but states not to try to get too involved with the plot's complications and just enjoy it. Last time I checked Indy IV had about 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. Any critic who moans about it being 'No Raiders' is just stressing the bleeding obvious. Of course it can't be as fresh or have the same impact as Raiders did in 1981. As long as it feels like an Indiana Jones film and provides me with a couple of hours of fun I'll be happy.

The only midnight showings I've gone to were for Batman Begins and Superman Returns.

I WILL, at some point, go to a midnight showing of a movie;it would have to be a movie I was REALLY looking forwards to..Indy isn't it.Plus, I have to plan it out very carefully-I live 3 blocks from a movie theater.Only problem is, it's dangerous at night.I'd have to get a ride home,or take a cab,but it'd be worth it.

Sweeney,I live in the northernmost part of San Diego County in California. The area I live in is nice, but if you walk 2 or 3 blocks from where I live it's a rough neighborhood. Not so much in the daytime, but at night it can be a bit scary, which is why I avoid it for the most part, though I did go to a showing of CR where I got out late enough that I had to walk home.In the dark.

You should find yourself a nice boyfriend to accompany you on such trips. Poor lass, going by yourself.katied wrote:Sweeney,I live in the northernmost part of San Diego County in California.
Why did I think you lived in the UK...?
