Found a couple of articles on the all mighty MI6-HQ that confirm what we already know:

Christoph Waltz unhappy with his portrayal of Blofeld

It confirms Waltz felt himself above the role, despite his claims that the days of "Punch and Judy" were behind them, more interestingly it seems he felt the much acclaimed Sammy Boy wasn't providing the necessary direction to really get in to the part.

Also

Daniel Craig pissed off MGM with negative publicity

Nothing new here, but the bit where the apologetic "reporter" states "Craig's much vaunted - and often taken out of context - 'slash my wrists' Time Out interview..." I found to be interesting. It's further proof of the blinders Craig fans wear when they read about their hero, never mind the fact he went on to spell out in no uncertain term and in great detail how if he came back "it would only be for the money" no this was all just a simple misunderstanding, a bit of hyperbole taken out of context, nothing to see here, please disperse. Laughable!

Image The NEW bat suit for the crummy actor. I cannot believe they are making this film which will not do any better than the last one. New Batsuit, new Bat vehicle, new Bat time: "Justice League" is set to open in theaters Nov. 17, 2017. ------------------Richard Bang Lester · Dublin, California
I went to movies to see this, we left after 40 minutes. Ben Aflect is horrible, i cannot believe these people that would cast him.
Arley Bindschadler · Western Nebraska Community College
Worst BM of all time . He cannot act and his suites looked ridiculous . Over stuffed Gladiator------- David Wellman · Dexter High
Too bad the suit can't make the actor...this bozo couldn't take poison and act sick-----------Dave Waterbury
Afleck is NOT right for Batman, and it makes me cringe seeing him try to do it . He is NOT a good choice for the part. Possibly the worst Batman ever.

If anything, there's something about the trailers of every Batfilm in TDK Trilogy that made them VERY epic, and this is what every trailer in DCEU are lacking though I can make an exception with MOS.

Of course Waltz thought he is above it all. Just watch that scene where he says that he's the author of Craig's pain *snort*. He clearly spoofed the part because he couldn't take it seriously. I don't blame the man really. He played a guy who formed a criminal organisation because he wanted to hurt his little brother because he felt little Craig was prefered. Try to say this out loud while keeping your face straight. I think there are two reasons why he jumped on board. A) a big pay check. After all he is a two-time Oscar winner I doubt he is cheap
B) after all,"serious" director was there, and Waltz is a"serious" actor. Maybe only later he realised in what kind of s**t he is stuck but it was too late by then.

Nobody since that slash my wrists and only in it for the money comment have thought Craig is coming back. The freaking head of MGM is pissed at Craig for saying it, I thought Sony may of called him out as well.
Babs may have final say of who is cast but MGM owns more bond rights than she does and she's doesn't put up $400 million to make them.

MGM could "remake" thunderball and casino royal on their own, it could be their own series.

I know everybody talks about what ifs on the CR movie rights, what if cubby had made CR, what if Connery had stared. What if Dalton had made it after LTK ? They ran out of bond stories they had rights to if the had gotten CR back then , I think it could have really been good with Dalton or even pierce as his exit.
But probably wouldn't happen because before 2004 they thought CR was "unfilmable"

Plus he uses his gravely "Batman voice" constantly, even out of costume! Bale's Batman put that voice on while suited up in an attempt to throw people off the trail as it were, where as Affleck uses it to let everyone know he and Batman are one and the same!

Babzy plays ironfisted dictator only because MGM allows it, they own half the rights, so it's not like she can "take her ball and go home" with them, if they really want something they'll have it!

As to CR being "unfilmable" they were right, as a traditional "Bond" film the ending to too dower, remember OHMSS under performed and many blamed the sad ending. I imagine the old guard at EON would not have been too anxious to make the same mistake twice, had they the opportunity. However if you do as Babs did and strip away the "Bondness" and create a generic action film, it works, at least on some level.

Our Ms. Bouvier, who has disappeared from existence here, like the Marty McFly picture in Back To The Future, thinks Affleck is a wonderful choice as Batman. How wrong can one be? Affleck:Batman as Cr-egg:Bond, as a mathematical equation. They BOTH disgust me and millions more in their roles.

Why does it still bother me this berk was lauded by so many as the perfect 007? The picture says it all. He is unkept & uncouth, Ian Fleming is spinning in his grave.
The Hamburglar is going to be pissed when he finds out Daniel Craig stole his job.

However if you do as Babs did and strip away the "Bondness" and create a generic action film, it works, at least on some level.
George Lazenby also publicly quit before OHMSS was released, this along with the fact the audience was not sure anybody but Sean Connery was James Bond I think hurt OHMSS. My personal opinion is OHMSS was such a wide deviation from the previous films it needed a known quantity staring to help it succeed. Ironic how the EON team was phoning it in the last few films with a dejected Sean Connery ready to walk as soon as his contract was fulfilled and they take the time to try to get OHMSS right with a unknown.

The studio had some big fights with the Broccolis about profits after Sir Roger and Timothy's movies didn't make Moonraker money, which along with other legal fights placed the series on hiatus. GoldenEye success and cash renewed the partnership, all the way to Die Another Day the studio was happy with the inflow of cash, even after the Broccoli dole was paid out. Arguably the absence of a Bond movie in 2004 helped scuttled MGM when the DVD market began to falter. I think MGM is too scared now to rock the boat, after all it is one of their only reliable earners at the moment.

However I wonder if Barbara and Michael took notice of MGM positioning themselves for the future (as previously mentioned) with half of DANJAQ and two 007 movies DANJAQ does not own.

What ever happened with that 007 stage play Saltzman's daughter was producing?

What's with all the Affleck hate? Can't say he's my favourite actor but he's a much better fit for a playboy millionaire than Craig is for a suave secret agent. Most people thought Affleck was the best thing about B v S.

most thought Wonder Woman was the best thing. I don't like Affleck in general, but the costume bothers me because it's molded to look like his face. One glance and you know it's Dare devil, I mean reindeer games.
I suppose seeing who it is is better than Craig where a stunt man in a mask played most of his time on screen.
