If there is no snow storm here this weekend I will check it out in IMAX if the theaters are less congested finally. In regards to ST, I think Abrams has ruined it. I won't pay to see that in theaters. I saw the first 2 in theaters. Pine as Kirk is now annoying me as well. FBF, get ready for Captain America in MayFormerBondFan wrote:Then you better do it now.bjmdds wrote:When the theaters are less crowded here MAYBE I will witness SW in IMAX.
The sequels are just getting started. Plot premise lacking? You might try this:Did you find the plot premise lacking in SW? The villain was too simplistic and unoriginal.

I see a Batman & Robin route on this though I'll give it a chance. If you decide to watch a bootleg on this, now that would make sense.

Lots of big films coming out this summer, but the film that i think could surprise everyone, and be the biggest hit of the summer is 'Independance Day 2'.FormerBondFan wrote:Capt America I'm in of course and Bat/Supes too though not as much as Rises.

Perhaps why SPRECTRE failed to garner award nominations?Kristatos wrote:Well. the Oscars were never meant to be a popularity contest, though blockbuster movies do win Oscars, like Titanic or Return of the King. And why would SP be nominated? Even though this reboot was critically aclaimed(the fact that makes me wanna throw up) it's very much all barking and no biting. While critics may praise "depth" and drama that really isn't there Academy will award something like Birdman that is more successful at being a "serious arty piece" than pretentious Sam Mendes film.Blowfeld wrote:Perhaps why SPRECTRE failed to garner award nominations?Kristatos wrote:Well. the Oscars were never meant to be a popularity contest, though blockbuster movies do win Oscars, like Titanic or Return of the King. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Given the last scene in ECH-TRE, applied to Broccoli's warped new direction, Bond 25 might very well go the route of Meet The Bonds and have them as a couple. This weekend The Peanuts movie and The Martian will be playing in MORE theaters than ECH-TRE by the way, in the USA. EON is desperately trying to drag this sack of celluloid drivel over the $200 million mark here.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I watched ECH-TRE again last night and I will now hand over the dvd to friends. I cannot tolerate it. I will now watch SW again, then hand that over to my buddies too. With heavy snow here this weekend, I won't see SW yet in the theaters until next week when the weather is improved. By the way, if you watch ECH-TRE, look at the way Cr-egg walks up the stairs at the very start while wearing the skeleton suit. He certainly shakes his 'fanny' like a woman

My thinking was the 'edginess' the critic praised the reboot for is gone. If it ever really existed in the first place. Now they are back to be snubbed like other big franchises.Veronica wrote:And why would SP be nominated? Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Yes,of course, all that "toughness" was one of the reasons why the reboot was praised as well. Critics, like fanboys alike, said Craig is a 'blunt instrument' and that makes him a picture perfect Fleming's Bond even though I'm sure Fleming didn't think about gym-made muscles when he said that.Blowfeld wrote:My thinking was the 'edginess' the critic praised the reboot for is gone. Critics were falling over themselves to praise the blunt instrument in CR like it was never heard before and yet,we heard the same thing in the movie before(yes,THAT movie, the most horrid thing ever done in human history that was so awful it destroyed the 40 years old franchise in a heartbeat-as said by fanboys on mi6 forum)...
Long ago, this franchise set the trends,it didn't copy other franchises heavily like this reboot.
After CR,a quite INaccurate interpretation of the novel we have the Bourne sequel a.k.a "The Quantum Ultimatum" and then we have Skyfall a.k.a "The Pale Craig Rises". And then,we have Spectre that has something from anything that successful in the recent years and also contains revelation that baffles me on every level possible.
Still,I have to say it does have a comical value. How they simply didn't get they were doing a homage to Austin Powers who,to quote Craig "fucked them". Also, how Waltz in the movie(I refuse to call him Blofeld) said-he faked his death and created a new name, character. So,he dies to live another day? Sounds familiar Barbra?
Yes,THAT movie that completely destroyed the longest running franchise with one of the most iconic character ever. It's quite a laugh.
