Wow Jimmy Durante is looking terrible these days! BTW love the Tacticalneck sweater, looks like they opted for the black rather than the stealthier slightly darker black.

There is a Roger Moore Live and Let Die vibe with that poster....

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
So they're filling roles even at this stage of filming. Obviously, as the script is written, they're realizing other roles that need to be filled. Why they're even bothering to note this no-name actress in a PR announcement is laughable. "...the 28-year-old Mexican actress certainly saw her profile raised Tuesday." In other words, she moved from zero to .0001 on the profile dial.bjmdds wrote:The name is Sigman, Stephanie Sigman. Although she may not have the name recognition of a certain secret agent, the 28-year-old Mexican actress certainly saw her profile raised Tuesday, when the filmmakers behind the upcoming James Bond adventure "Spectre" announced her addition to the cast.

The added her now? Seems to me how script is in a mess.
Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
What's hilarious about Craig is that, no matter how they try to spiff him up, he can't get away from looking like Vladimir Putin. But that's an odd teaser photo. It looks more like a fashion photo from one of those department store catalogs, and my gay relative said that Craig's turtleneck in that photo is, well, gayish. Now that I think about it, he reminds me of those Sprocket skits on SNL with the gay Germanic guys in black turtlenecks.bjmdds wrote:

I don't know if MGM has any true power because they have no money and had to cling to Sony to survive. But Barbara Broccoli is bound to have her struggles with the new regime at Sony, to say the least. How she deals with Pascal's replacement, Tom Rothman, will be interesting:bjmdds wrote:None, with her in charge.....BUT, what if she relinquishes creative control to MGM and THEY call ALL shots?
Rothman’s appointment could ruffle some feathers on Sony’s Culver City lot. At Fox, Rothman was known for keeping costs in check and for his hands-on management style with major productions. However, he also has a prickly personality and a temper that sometimes put him at odds with Fox’s corporate leadership.

Let's hope Rothman reads Broccoli the riot act behind closed doors and demands her direction with Bond revert to the way it was penned by Fleming, not reinterpreted by her and these stooge writers and artsy directors.

LMAO! Adding someone while you're ALREADY filming, casting and adding part while that's happening... This thing is officially a JOKE.Atticus wrote:So they're filling roles even at this stage of filming. Obviously, as the script is written, they're realizing other roles that need to be filled. Also, sorry Sweeney darling, but Roger Moore is classy, elegant and charming, and not posing like a thug with open legs in the photo, Craig looks freaking ridiculous and he looks like a bad photoshopped copy of a Spock (what the hell is it with those ears) imitation, adding some Putin to it.
I have rarely seen a teaser poster so NOT James Bond like and so blatantly CHEAP and photoshopped.HOW do these people think they can market stuff is beyond me.

Correction to the MGM part. Let me be clear, MGM absolutely NEVER relied on Sony for ANYTHING: Sony has NOTHING to do with MGM's exit from bankruptcy and return to investments. That was a great job done by MGM executives, and they are doing VERY well considering especially where they were. MGM is MUCH more powerful now and they're the ones who will have more power because well... Sony is fucked at this point, to put it bluntly, excuse my French.Atticus wrote:I don't know if MGM has any true power because they have no money and had to cling to Sony to survive. And with Pascal gone, things anyway are going to become a LOT less easy for Broccoli.

Speaking of which...that teaser poster with Daniel Putin Craig has a cheapskate, low budget aura. This Rothman chap must have had a nervous breakdown when he learned Spectre is costing $300 million or so.

McQueen is way cooler than Craig. Not a fan so it's easier to slam it. But the teaser is bad, the stance is what ruins it a Moore or McQueen pose would be better imhoNapoleon Solo wrote:Evolution of the spy turtleneck from Illya Kuryakin to Matt Helm to Connery Bond to Moore Bond:

Sadly, this poor effort is all it takes to get some people excited like giddy schoolgirls. The final posters will probably be just as bad, or possibly worse than Skyfall's.Alessandra wrote:I have rarely seen a teaser poster so NOT James Bond like and so blatantly CHEAP and photoshopped.HOW do these people think they can market stuff is beyond me.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
In addition to the plain ineptitude of Mendes and Barbara Broccoli's manic control-freak issues, there's another reason why Spectre has a haphazard production, with the script being written on the fly. Studio bosses at Sony and MGM got $20 mil in tax incentives from the Mexican government to put the country in good light. In other words, you've got the Mexican government dictating the script. An article from taxanalysts.com describes the turmoil behind the scenes. Excerpts:
A month after they were scheduled to start filming, the producers of the upcoming James Bond film got an e-mail from studio executives with what must have been a frustrating directive: the script needed rewriting.
"We are currently facing a budget that is far beyond what we anticipated and are under immense pressure to reduce the number to $250M net of rebates and incentives," wrote Jonathan Glickman, president of MGM's motion picture group. "This is not about 'nickel and diming' the production. As of now, our shooting period is $50M higher than Skyfall and the current gross budget sits in the mid $300Ms, making this one of the most expensive films ever made."
In the case of Spectre, the [hacked e-mails] suggest that the film's lavish budget put the studio, which did not respond to Tax Analysts' request for comment, in a position in which it was so desperate to save money that it allowed itself to cede some level of creative control to foreign bureaucrats.
It's not unusual for film incentives to come with strings attached.... But the changes to Spectre appear to go well beyond that, with the studio permitting Mexican authorities to make casting decisions, dictate characters' ethnicities, and even change the occupation of an unnamed character that never appears on-screen or figures into the story outside of the opening scene.... But they raise thorny questions about the extent of the government's authority to interfere with artistic endeavors.

A hilarious bit: "...although Mexican officials wanted to see their citizens in the film, they were sensitive about how they might be portrayed." Well, there's not much to present in terms of Mexican citizenry. About 90% of them are in California.
