You're a cliche, pal. Besides, you're the guy who came swinging the bat at me, so to speak, suggesting I was delusional. As I said, I didn't even direct anything at you. I was just commenting on the photos as things to came to mind. And here you are trying to revive it again, when I told at the end of my post to put this aside. Why you have such a bizarre obsession with this topic is very disturbing. Something is amiss with you to be so obsessed with the looks of these actors as they age. You can't just let it go. Don't go around doing that. Be a man and fess up to the fact that you had a useless poorly thought-out idea. Have some dignity and some respect for this forum. As you said, at the end of day, we're fans here and let's leave it that. Don't go around trying to perpetuate this because I don't give a hoot how long you've been here.
Whatever. If you look back at my posts, and then yours about analysing an actor who is ageing, I think you'll find we both could look like we have a bizarre obsession.

Of course I have respect for this forum. Check out how long I've been on here, and how many posts I have made. That should tell you something about the respect I have for this forum.

I still stand by my idea that Connery and Moore look far older at the end of their tenures as Bond, than Craig has done from when he started to where he is now in his tenure, but I also concede to the fact that Craig looked old and craggy to begin with. I think most here will agree with that fact. He looked 70 in CR, and he still looks 70 now....

He is a bit like Gene Hackman in that regard - an actor who looked old in Bonnie & Clyde, but 20 years later looked virtually the same.

Anyway, life's too short for arguing about actors. They are the ones making the millions, and we are the ones discussing them.

Apologies if you thought I was jumping down your throat with my earlier post, that wasn't my intention. Let's move on.....

As someone said on Twitter, it's only considered romantic because the guy is a millionaire. If he lived in a trailer, it'd be an episode of Law & Order: SVU.
Last week there was a group of women buying tickets to 50 shades . I don't even want to describe them.
No matter how unbond the series get at least it has not sunk to the level of 50 shades to make money.
I don't know the books but from what I've seen creepy doesn't cover it. I'm not big on all the pc stuff this movie makes me wonder what happened to all those feminists who hate bond so much. 50 shades will probably ruin some real peoples lives where bond gave strong sexy women we knew were just in the movies.

Where are the so-called feminists big O decrying this trash as anti-woman? Their silence is deafening :!: Can you imagine the mindset of millions of women standing on long lines and paying top dollar to see a film where the leading lady is treated like an object of S & M, and the film supposedly is terrible to boot?
I seem to recall reading that anti-domestic violence activists had organised protests against the film.

The Oscars event felt really long. But it was refreshing to hear some Bond themes. "Nobody Does It Better" was played as Oprah walked out as a presenter. After a commercial break at one point, I thought I heard the theme to the 1967 Casino Royale.

Ah, the swinging 60's. I remember an interview with Michael Caine and he mentioned he was roommates with John Barry and how that period just felt like it was the summer of their lives. It's been a while since I've seen that photo of Lazenby. 1969. As Julie Andrews said last night at the Oscars, you blink and suddenly find yourself in the here-and-now.

BTW, you don't go under a different name on another Bond site do you?

I would give Neil Patrick Harris a c for his hosting ability. Appreciated that he wasn't as mean-spirited as some hosts have been.

I was SO happy Eddie Redmayne won-was jumping up and down!

I haven't watched an Oscar ceremony since I moved back to the UK. It's primetime viewing in the USA (at least on the east coast - I assume it's still late afternoon in LA). Over here, it's on at stupid o'clock in the morning, because of the time difference. I was only ever interested in the results, though, the show itself is pretty cheesy. They seem to be struggling to bring it into the 21st century without alienating large swathes of the audience, swinging between hosts who only only appeal to some of the audience, such as Jon Stewart (who I like) and Seth McFarlane (who I don't); or safe but boring hosts like Harris. I didn't actually see the ceremony, I am basing the view of Harris on what I've heard from other people. I can't really think of a modern comedian/actor who would have the sort of broad appeal that people like Bob Hope and Billy Crystal had in decades past, but without seeming like a throwback to an earlier era.

Not a problem. And I respect whatever sexual orientation people have. I was just surprised by the comment in itself. It was "too much information." I found it uncomfortable to see what looked like a personal matter.

No, I don't have other names. I did post at a forum called Alternative 007 a while back but lost interest when a whack job started posting anti-American comments.

You weren't the only one who skipped the show. The ratings last night were bad.

The opening number was slick enough in terms of execution. But it went downhill from there. And it got very political. I went to the garage to sort my tools, then checked an hour later and they were just getting to the sound mixing award. Later, I did catch a photo of Louis Jordan as part of the necrology montage. On the whole, it also felt cheesy to me. Like one of those 70's variety shows.

Smart move wise one....."UPDATE, 8:07 AM: The ratings are coming in almost as fast as the awards were handed out during last night’s Oscars and preliminary fast nationals have the Neil Patrick Harris hosted show getting a 10.3/27 among adults 18-49. That’s a drop of 14% from the 12.1/29 that the Ellen DeGeneres fronted Oscars pulled in last year for ABC on March 2. Viewershipwise, the 87th Academy Awards were watched by 34.6 million between 8:30 and 11 PM in the early results. That’s down almost 14% from the 40.2 million who watched the show over the same time period last year. While that number will change in later ratings, for a point of context the only lower number in the last few years was the 2008 Oscars, which had a final viewership of 32.0 million. The 2003 Oscars had an audience of 33.0 million, the worst the show has done this century."

Atticus, RON, the Sweeney's new "padawan" ( An apprentice who undergoes intensive training under a learned Jedi Knight ) (    ), just invaded your former website, and together with his buddy Alvin, take "creepy" to a new level.

There wasn't anything personal, I don't think.

I'm guessing it was as a joke, a wind up from someone who has come across me before on another forum, as my sexual orientation is straight, but not that it really matters anyway......

I'm guessing that is what they are after...a response. You know what its like when children do anything for attention.....

If I was that bothered I would.

I did actually try logging in, but couldn't remember my password. And as I am a member on another forum with the same hosting site, it is only allowing me to login under the different name/password I have for the other site.

Cheers for batting them off for me anyway BJ.....

Fifty Shades of Grey and Kingsman retained the #1 & #2 slots respectively at the US box office. But 50 Shades dropped a massive 74%, the second biggest drop ever for a super-saturated release (after the Friday 13th remake) while Kingsman dropped a much more respectable 49%. I guess the difference is word of mouth.

Oscars pulled in 36.6 million total viewers on Sunday night -- 6.4 million fewer that 2014's 10-year high, according to overnight numbers - the audience represents a six-year low in total viewers for the awards show and a 16 percent drop in viewership. By comparison January's Golden Globes telecast snagged 20.9 million viewers - a 10-year high for the show. The Globes were hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey and gave "Boyhood" and "The Grand Budapest Hotel" the top movie prizes.
