Following the record setting opening for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel has made it official that the third solo outing for Cap will indeed be on May 6, 2016. That date is already significant because it’s the release date of Warner Bros.’ “Man of Steel” sequel with Superman squaring off with Batman.

Prior to the announcement that the Marvel film to be released on that date would be the third “Captain America,” Kevin Feige stated “We’re certainly keeping the date there.” With “Winter Soldier” taking in more than $96 million at the U.S. box office this past weekend, there has to be an added amount of confidence about sticking with it over at Marvel headquarters.

“Man of Steel” was no slouch at the box office itself, and adding the Caped Crusader to the mix can only bolster the anticipation for that weekend’s DC Comics offering. Henry Cavill is returning as Superman for that sequel, with Ben Affleck joining as Batman. “Captain America 3” will, presumably, feature the return of Chris Evans in the title role. May 6, 2016 is still more than two years away, and a lot can change in that amount of time. Chiwetel Ejiofor as a black Blofeld? I love you, Chiwetel but no. Hope that is just a rumor. Babs really has sunk lower than low if it's true.


Oh and BTW: the pictures of Daniel and Rachel=Beauty and the Beast. Fo sho.

I suspect people may be putting 2+2 together and making 5 here. Mendes has said that he wants Ejiofor to play a villain, and everyone assumes that he means Blofeld because Blofeld looks likely to return in the next movie. It could be a secondary villain of the Emilio Largo/Red Grant variety.

Yeah. I figured it was a rumor.. I still don't like the idea of Blofeld, black, purple orange or otherwise. I think everyone here knows my opinion about resurrecting the dead horse that is Blofeld.

Moneypenny is black. Q is young and very geeky. Dench's M was a "mother-figure". Bond is a thug. Felix is also black. Smoking in the films is banned. Romancing women traditionally is forbidden. Behaving like a proper tough man is considered being sexist. So, of course the next Blofeld will be black. I wouldn't put it past EON. They're destroying the franchise as hard as they can. It's for politically-correct-loving people, now.

I doubt he'll be using his Colbert Report persona for The Late Show. Wonder if he'll revert to the correct pronunciation of his surname? He always said that the silent t only applied to the character he played on the Report.

Late night tv is horrible. They all are talentless. They want the 18-30 year olds to stay up late and watch these characters. I stopped watching late night shows years ago. I watch Seinfeld reruns at that time instead. Arsenio still being on the WB is pathetic.

IF they sign him, it is better than 50/50 he will be a Blofeld reincarnate from Logan's pen out of Broccoli's demented mind. She wants to culturally reinvent the franchise. Quantum would be the new Spectre and Chiwetel the new Blofeld. Once they got the rights to CR, Brosnan was canned and they ran with it. Now, they have the rights to Blofeld so watch them run with it. 2+2=4 when dealing with the very predictable Broccoli, now that we have watched her chess moves to the characters one by one. Drake is correct. He has her down pat

Oh there's certainly precendent. I'm just saying that all we know for sure is that Mendes has said that he wants Chiwetel Ejiofor to play a villain in the next movie (assuming even that is correct - I don't know the source of this statement, so I don't know if it is reliable or not). We don't know that he will say yes, and we don't know that the villain in question is Blofeld. It hasn't even been officially announced that Blofeld is going to be in the next movie, though it hasn't been denied either, which I think it would have been by now if it was untrue. I know EON likes to keep the rumour mill grinding, but I think it could backfire on them to have everyone hyped up for the return of Blofeld and then disappoint them.
