I didn't say Khan was a letdown. Blowfeld's right. Ben's Khan did justice. But there is something about Zod that makes him better.

An MBE for Adele and a CBE for Roger Deakins in the Queen's birthday honours list. I guess Her Maj really enjoyed her skydive with BoBo.

A job well done by all :!: It takes a dedicated forum to produce those staggering numbers. Nash and his pro-Cr-egg marauders thought we would never last. They are the ones who failed and tried to unsuccessfully reinvent themselves. Here is to the next 1000 pages :!: I can only hope by then Broccoli's lust for Cr-egg has ebbed but I doubt it, judging by her recent statements in videos and press. "Saturday AM Update: After starting strong on Thursday night, Man of Steel added a very impressive $44.05 million on Friday ($56.05 million total). That opening day ranks 20th all-time, and second among non-sequels behind The Hunger Games ($67.3 million). That's also the highest opening day ever for a superhero origin story, and it's twice as high as Superman Returns's $18 million debut.

The Thursday grosses make the math a bit tricky, but it now seems like Man of Steel is guaranteed to earn at least $120 million by Sunday. It could even make it over $140 million if it winds up being a major draw on Father's Day."

Dammned Fine Show chaps, 1000 pages, here's to the next 1000. at this rate, and going on empire magazines article,. this site will not only outlive the danielle cr-egg love in sites, but will outlive the franchise itself when the audience changes and the focus on gloomy and depressing drama looses popularity and the next film bombs!

I think MOS is probably the same level as ID.
Zod or Khan? Which was the better villain?

It looks like Cavill's Superman will destroy Cr-egg's last Bond film in the USA opening weekend. I still cannot figure out the popularity of the sub-par Sk-Awful. The next film won't have the 50th anniversary connotation with it as a selling point. If Zod wins hands down big O, that explains the sub-par performance of ID.

If Cr-egg was not named Bond, this achievement never would have been realized, and none of us would have become internet connections lasting years now. That's special nowadays.

Just watch MOS again (this time in IMAX), and it gets better the more I watch it. Heck, I would even considering it better than ID.

He's not here to defend himself, so it isn't really fair to him, but I was glad when Nash was finally banned. He would go through times of having it together, not trying to start sh!t and actually interacting with everyone in a pleasant(ish) way. But then he would slip back into old habits and that's why he had to go. The last bit he was here he was getting people so upset that everyone would have been banned for going off on him, eventually. I know some people want to see him for his good points-and that's a fair point-we got along-sometimes-but a lot of the time he was trying to cause trouble. And I can't ignore that.

That says a lot FBF. You know your stuff. I will see it next Saturday night, maybe in 3-D. It looks like they have Cavill for a good trilogy now for Superman, but it still won't do Sk-Awful numbers but it exposed the weaknesses of the plot of ID.

I still prefer ID an infinite miles over SF, which is nothing more than a pretentious piece of motherf*cking sh*t made by the Queen SOB. And unlike SF, ID wasn't pretentious by any means.

Shocking, truly awful movie. I thought Batman & Robin/DAD could never be beaten in terms of gutter trash, but Man of Steel has happily knocked them both off for the Number. 1 spot.

This really is a bad, bad film. The action is meaningless, the characters I didn't care about, the flimsy rumour of a story has a `making it up as we go along' type attitude, characters like Lois Lane suddenly gets caught in the action, in a laughably bad sequence where she interacts with the ghostly Jor-El.

This was the first film since DAD that I have seen at the cinema and was ready to walk out half way through, in a mixture of disgust and downright boredom. Its a cross between the terrible Transformers and 2012, but nowhere near as good as those 2 crap movies.

Given this 1/10 is being too kind. Man of Steel is one of the worst films ever made! Period!

BJ, I think you will hate this. This is your worst nightmare in terms of a franchise being ruined. Reeve must be turning in his grave.

Sweeney, I am not a huge Superman fan now, after having experienced Reeve's first 2 films with a positive reaction, and his last 2 films as utter trash. Routh was a total waste in 2006. You cannot be serious stating it's worse that Clooney's Batman film? I cannot watch one scintilla of a second of that garbage. I find all Cr-egg films are the worst Hollywood has offered the public. At least TMOS destroyed Sk-Awful here with an opening weekend of $113 million :!: I thought it would do in the $90 million range but this was a darn good start.

Believe it or not, this film makes Superman Returns look great.

Reeve will always be Superman, and Brando will always be Jor-El. This new film is a bad joke. And yes, it's on par with Batman & Robin.

I came home with a headache and had to take 2 tablets. The second half is so noisy, its like watching a computer game. Just tons of meaningless CGI. How many times can we see buildings explode, how many times can Superman and Zod thrown each other into skyscrapers. The second half of the movie really is a mess. And the character of Superman is dark, broody, and has lots of issues. If you hated what Craig has done with Bond, and what Nolan did with Batman, then you will really, REALLY hate this.

Actually, the weekend estimated total is $125.1 million. The actual total won't be known until tomorrow evening, but the actuals rarely differ from the estimates by any significant amount.

The $125 million includes Thursday's $12 million, which is not factored into it's 3 day actual opening.
