Yes, because Cubby usually had better judgement (though I question his wisdom in picking Lazenby based on a chocolate commercial).

Eric Bana was good in Black Hawk Down

I won't call him ideal for Bond, but he could have been a fair choice, and he's definitely better looking than DC.
