I not so sure Lone Ranger is not the next John Carter

I doubt it. Disney seems to be getting behind it in a way that they simply didn't for John Carter. I'm told there was a Superbowl ad for it, I don't think that was the case for JC. Plus it has Johnny Depp, who's a proven box office draw in Disney movies.

I'm almost certain there was a Super Bowl ad. Depp may save the day for this one, in this movies favour is Disney is not holding it back by years when a movie is shelved it is nearly always a universally bad omen.

Last preview (I've seen) Kirk asks him who are you? His answer is superior, goes on to say he is superior in everything

From what i saw he is not a cadet or someone from starfleet, has me thinking Kahn

We all wish that was the case, but in reality, just as Thunderball and You Only Live Twice each tried to outdo their immediate predecessor in terms of spectacle, so the next two Bond films are likely to do the same in terms of pretentious talkiness and cheap emotionalism. I give it two films, maximum, before the tediously inevitable revelation that Bond was sexually abused as a child. Don't shoot the messenger, you know it's coming.

That's precisely my thoughts as well. After Skyfall's massive success, I can only imagine that Bond 24 will be even more artsy and pretentious to try and outdo it. History is repeating itself, but only the complete opposite. Instead of getting too outlandish and silly, the films are getting too artsy and dramatic. Bond 24 could end up being like Moonraker or Die Another Day in that regard.

It will probably be another Quantum of Solace!

Bond films like Moonraker and Die Another Day generally get a lot of flack for going too far into the outlandish territory. So Bond 24 could end up getting a similar negative response, except only for being the extreme opposite of course. It's never really good for the Bond films to either be too light-hearted or too dark. However, out of the two extremes, I would still go with light-hearted since it's more entertaining and appealing, in my opinion.

Perhaps Broccoli might reboot Shaw's iconic FRWL villain in Bond 24 It seems they are reintroducing the entire cast so when will we meet Dr. No already as well?

The overhaul of "Smash" between its first and second seasons didn't translate to any ratings improvement. The NBC show's two-hour season premiere tanked, finishing with a meager 1.1 rating in adults 18-49.

Apparently Dallas' ratings haven't been all that great(which is a shame) but apparently it counts when you watch it later,whether on on demand, on DVR or whatever. The ratings for Monday Mornings, which comes on after Dallas, were so abysmal that it wasn't even in the published ratings. Ouch.
