Here’s hoping that NBC does well with “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol,” which marks its 50th anniversary at 8 p.m. Saturday. Magoo (voiced by the wonderful Jim Backus) takes the Scrooge role in this delightful version of the Dickens classic. Tonight on NBC. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entert ... 254_91.jpg

That special begat a series that lasted one season on NBC, "The Incredible Adventures of Mr. Magoo." Each week, there would be an adaptation of a classic novel or story with Mr. Magoo "playing" a part. Among others: Frankenstein (Magoo as Dr. Frankenstein), Treasure Island (Magoo as Capt. Kidd), The Three Muskateers, Noah's Ark (Magoo as Noah), etc. The one exception was "Dick Tracy and the Mob." UPA had the television rights to Tracy (having done an awful series in the early '60s). "Dick Tracy and the Mob" actually was far better than the earlier UPA effort. Tracy recruits "the famous actor" Mr. Magoo to infiltrate the mob.

Skyfall is now up to $694.3 million overseas. Sony's markets earned an estimated $8.4 million overseas bringing their cume to $607.1 million. MGM's distribution partners earned an estimated $.565 for a total of $87.2 million.
AUSTRALIA lead the pack this weekend with $2.4 million (cume $42.6 million) and still #1 for a fifth straight week. JAPAN took in $1.6 million in its 4th frame to raise its cume to $22.4 million and GERMANY did another $1.3 million for a new total of $78.9 million. Both markets held very well, slipping just 22% from last weekend. Other holdovers include the U.K. with $.800 (cume $159.3 million), HOLLAND $.480 ($20.6 million) and FRANCE $.460 ($58.0 million).
It is being reported that SF will be released in China on January 21st (a little bit earlier than expected), then 2 weeks later it appears the Hobbit will be released there, and both films should cash in, as the Chinese New Year Holiday starts in early February, and lasts for 10 days...........and i will be there, on my own personal mission
Well after this weekend SF is around $25mil shy of the magic 1 BILLION, which is now a certainty!
......and by New Year SF should of overtaken Twilight in the US to be 4th biggest film there of 2012.
Meanwhile in the UK , SF now only needs around a couple of $ mil to register the big £100 mil mark, which has never ever been achieved by any film released in the UK.
Favorite Movies: Bullitt, The Long Good Friday, The Towering Inferno, Jaws, Rocky, Superman the Movie, McVicar, Goodfellas, Get Carter, Three Days of the Condor, Butch & Sundance, The Sting, All the Presidents Men

Just thought you might like to know!
Once SF beats TB in the next few weeks, it will be the new official No.1 most successful Bond film of all time. Pretty impressive, given the series has been going 50 years.
Favorite Bond Movie: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Mission: Impossible, Kingsman: The Secret Service and The November Man or any upcoming actioners starring Pierce Brosnan (no, it's not James Bond which is good since it will help him expand his reputation as an actor especially in the action realm)
Favorite Movies: Star Wars Indiana Jones Star Trek The Dark Knight Trilogy Harry Potter Middle-Earth The Matrix Mission: Impossible The Mummy Jurassic Park Godzilla

I guess it doesn't matter who plays the role as long as he can act, and SF would gross just the way it is. I say Babs should bring in Idris or any other actor with an ethnic background as Bond once DC retires. I think DC shouldn't be the only non-traditional (as oppose to the first 5 Bonds or to the likes of Henry Cavill or Michael Fassbender) to have all the fun.

Just was wondering whether any members here have bought that book!
I have the My Word Is My Bond book by Roger Moore, but I haven't got the Bond On Bond book yet.

On tapatalk so I can do my weekend update
1. Hobbit $36 mil
2. Jack reacher $15 mil
3. This is 40 $12
4. Rise of the guardians $5.9 mil
5. Lincoln 5.6 mil
Lincoln is the real work horse in the group, hobbit is doing exactly what I thought spyfall would do down to the markets losing ground second weekend. Got to be a disappointment to MGM. Can it all really just be cause of December?

I read a bit of Bond on Bond in the library where Rog says (or his ghostwriter!) "some people did not Daniel Craig - I've never seen so much hate towards an actor". You ought to read what many on the the Bond forums say about you Roger!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!
That's the most dickish merry Christmas on record
That's Ebenezer Sweeney for you.
Could be worse
