Blimey that's a helluva lot of money!
Yeah we've talked about it when another paper had it earlier, one thing Mazer said is he thought the early numbers of what was it? $16 million? were low ball. Guess they were.
Strange how it is a great thing for Craig when it was Pierce asking less than $20 he was a greedy SOB.
That's because Pierce isn't Barbara's favourite.

On top of that, critics are praising Skyfall as the best Bond ever, and there's the promises of how it will be more along the lines of a traditional Bond film. So of course it's going to make a ton of money. If the producers would have taken the anti-Bond Quantum Of Solace direction again, I can assure you it would have been nowhere near this successful. Even though the producers hate classic Bond, they still know it holds more value and will bring in big money.
I factored all this in beforehand, hence why I predicted the big BO. I'm just amazed no one else saw this coming.

Oh, I knew that Skyfall would be a success. It's just that I was hoping it wouldn't be such a massive success. But I do find it amusing how the producers have to use classic Bond to bounce back from their last mishap. It would have been interesting to see the results had they made another Quantum Of Solace type of Bond film again.

Skyfall back to No. 1 in daily box office grosses. Obviously won't last long.

I think that is one positive to take from this - EON learned from their mistakes with QoS, and knew they had to return back to the success formula found in CR.
QoS was a bad experiment, but only a small glitch on the franchise overall. SF shows audiences can bound back fairly quickly from any disappointment found with QoS.

How high would young Kirk's 2nd journey gross at the US box office compared to DC's third virus? Sorry to say Sweenster, but I'm willing to bet it will beat SF's domestic gross.

From the looks of the teaser, it looks quite different.

Should be something to look forward to FBF now that the James Bond series is dead.

I wonder who Sherlock Cumberbatch is playing as the villain. Looks pretty good.

You know for some reason I had the impression ST made more money than it did. It's no star wars but it think it will be bigger than any Star trek since first contact or generations.

Based on the trailer, the sequel didn't seem to copy anything. Different is what I would describe it.

The blonde woman who appears in a couple of shots in the trailer reminded me of Maryam D'abo. Don't remember her being in the first film.

Star Trek 2 looks amazing. The blonde woman kinda looks like Jenny McCarthy(who I can't stand. :cuss: ) but I don't think it is. Kirk's mom was played by Dr. Cameron, sorry, Jennifer Morrison. and she was blonde(I think?) but the lady in the trailer wasn't Mama Kirk.

"When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew." Credited cast: Benedict Cumberbatch :Khan (rumored) "This is the same path Christopher Nolan took with The Dark Knight by making The Joker his prime villain in the film...........This other rumor is spreading: "Gary Mitchell appeared in the original Star Trek TV series, in an episode titled “Where No Man Has Gone Before.” It is the third episode in the original series (but was made as a second pilot), and chronicles a tale in which the Enterprise crew discover the record log of a long-lost ship at the (literal) edge of the universe. While there, the Enterprise experiences a strange phenomenon that transforms two crew members – one being Kirk’s longtime friend from the academy, Gary Mitchell – into beings of immense psychic ability. These new powers quickly corrupt Mitchell, who proclaims himself a god; when Kirk and Spock try to strand the power-crazed crewman on a remote planet, it results in a confrontation that claims lives, and forces Kirk to kill his old friend to save the universe."

I guess Hillary's favorite show is now The Voice: http://www.eonline.com/eol_images/Entir ... 10312.jpeg The next President of these United States? You know what's on her mind, and it's not Billy boy :!: "It was during a leadership awards ceremony in October that the former First Lady couldn’t take her eyes off of Christina’s chest. In retrospect, the singer said, “That picture looks like it was Photoshopped but it’s not. That was a real moment.”
