The world of Bond is corrupted enough already, and its virus will continue to spread into the general public, ranging from moviesgoers and movie awards people (especially those in US).

Matt Damon was on Charlie Rose last night. Damon said the director of the Bourne films he did, did not like James Bond and felt there was a niche audience who agreed with him so he did the Bourne trilogy. What did Eon do? They copied it :!:

John Le Carre didn't like Bond either, and I've noticed a trend among BoBo fans of calling for Bond to be more like John Le Carre. One of them said on AFJB that the film version of The Spy Who Came in From The Cold represented his ideal Bond film.

Interestingly, screenwriter Paul Dehn worked on both Goldfinger and The Spy Who Came In From the Cold

Also, some prominent LeCarre fans take the cue from the author and cut down Bond whenever possible. Robert MacNeil, the retired PBS newsman, did the introductions for the Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy miniseries when it aired in the U.S. in 1980. I remember one of them he specifically went on about how awful Bond was. A few years earlier, LeCarre, in a 60 Minutes interview, said Bond would defect to the Soviet Union if they offered enough women and booze.

Didn't quite catch all of it, but I heard something on the radio about some Bond related auction, and that Daniel Craig's swim trunks was one of the items for sale. What the heck? Who would want to buy Craig's tiny swim trunks he wore in Casino Royale?

And Bruce Fierstein wrote both TND and The Constant Gardener. No reason why a writer shouldn't be versatile, the problem is that trying to make Bond like Le Carre is like trying to squeeze a square peg into a round hole. Le Carre was interested in painting a realistic portrait of the profession of espionage. Fleming...wasn't!

John le Carré was a little more charitable toward Ian's fantasy recently.

I have yet to watched any of the new movies that were missing from blu-ray before. But I must say on the bonus disc aside from the Skyfall promo stuff the disc wasn't as heavy with Craig propaganda as one might think. I had to laugh when I watched the feature on Bond gadgets, when it came to Craig's turn all they could show was his cell phone and the micro chip implant in his arm. I was hoping they'd show his defibrillator

But so far I like the box set and am extremely happy to have my complete Bond blu-ray set. :007: even if CR and QOS is included. The box set also has a reserved spot for skyfall.
I can't believe you bought Bond 50. That product is part of the enemy. If you want to buy something, buy the complete The Dark Knight trilogy pack.

Thought I'd start with the gun barrel since that's where it belongs
Sorry dude but I love me some 007 always have from the moment I watched Thunderball (I remember thinking what a great movie it was when 007 fell into the pool of sharks) as a kid on the living room floor with my dad. After that moment I made my Dad rent all of the Bond movies. Then as a young teen (12or13) when I saw Goldeneye in the Theatre I became a 007 geek FOR LIFE. So ya I bought the complete box set on bluray, even though it came with the Craig movies. I wanted the box set cause I've never had a complete Bond Boxset. I doubt I'll even watch the Craig movies. Bottom line I am one of the biggest Bond fans in the world (you should see my theatre room,my wife calls it my James Bond room). I will always be a Bond fan and that's why I'm on this site Daniel Craig is NOT Bond, and his movies are NOT Bond movies.

I go away for a week and you all start buying Craig movies [smacks forehead]
We are all Bond fans here (even our friends who come here to disagree with us). I understand there are aspects of a boycott that work and those that don't. Enjoying Bond is a must for people like us. There is an ideology that goes along with this site, the very idea of rejecting the company line, rejecting their Bond and encouraging others to do so as well. It makes us unpopular with some, it also makes us principled. One thing never changes we love Bond, the books, the movies, the radio dramas, the comics, the history. I can't fault any man or woman for wanting to enjoy Bond to the best they are able. It's all good

Just nobody ruin the end of Moonraker for me :007:

I still enjoy the original 20, but I decide not to watch them until Bond 23 is obliterated. I want to show that Babs monster it's about other franchises now, and that Bond is dead and a thing in the past until the 7th Bond (which we may not see for a while) comes in.

Is the UK showing Bond 23 tv spots yet? It's only 4 weeks away. EA, did you pre-order your ticket yet? The first weekend of the month features the long-awaited release of Taken 2, which finds Liam Neeson once again beating up evil Eastern Europeans in an attempt to save his family. After opening to $24.7 million in January 2009, the original Taken went on to become a huge hit with $145 million total. While it has become a bit of a punchline in some circles, it has an avid fan base and a generally-strong reputation among regular moviegoers (it has a great 7.9 rating on IMDb).

The plot for Taken 2 is nearly identical to the first movie—this time his wife is taken instead of his daughter—but that shouldn't be a big drawback for people looking to see Liam Neeson kicking ass again. Distributor 20th Century Fox has been marketing the hell out of the movie, and it could top Paranormal Activity 3's $52.6 million to set a new October opening weekend record. The movie will be incredibly front-loaded, though, given the pent-up demand, and it will ultimately have a tough time matching its predecessor's total. If this tops $50 million opening weekend, what will Bond 23 do?

http://ringsidereport.com/?p=22364 Big mistake. It should gross less now due to no curiosity factor. It makes no sense. FBF, your thoughts on this matter?

I haven't seen any, but I've seen the aforementioned commercials for Heineken, 007 aftershave and the Sky 007 channel (which, it has been confirmed, is only running for one month - I didn't think they would be able to sustain it indefinitely). They are definitely creating a buzz about the film without advertising it directly.

I couldn't care less about Spidey. BJ, I was hoping it's Bond 23 related. We need this weapon to be self-destructive. I was told by a fellow rebel, saying that EON does a poor job in marketing Bond 23.

FBF, Taken 2 next weekend? I'd rather watch THIS TV on the WB's network reruns of Bamboo Harvester playing Mr. Ed than watch Bond 23. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/e ... ter_Ed.png FBF, what say yee? I'd rather listen to this theme song than The Sky Is Falling by Adele: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_PZPpWT ... re=related FBF, what say yee?

I don't have enough money to spend right now. Going to save it for Twilight, Hobbit and Les Miz. The Bat's final round is out on home video in 12/4/12 so I'll buy all formats.

Anything is preferable over Bond these days.
