Spider trash dropped to a dismal 17th place in the USA. It's done worldwide and $200 million behind the real Spider-Man Tobey Maguire's last film, and never reached the $700 million mark as was thought, let alone the expected and touted $800 million mark. . The Bat will pass $900 million shortly. Sony is in decay now with Garfield and DC and there is waning interest in either of these 2 losers carrying on their respective franchises.

This November will determined whether we will have the traditional dark hair Bond back or go for the freaks as Bond.

Did anyone see the TV movie The Best of Men, about the birth of the Paralympics? There was a quartermaster character on it who equipped the first Paralympians with their wheelchairs and fitness equipment, inevitably nicknamed Q. OK, it was based on a true story, but I can't believe the filmmakers were unaware of the James Bond connection. Referring to him as Q must have been a conscious choice on their part.

Directive 007? Now that sounds better. Only bad guys use the term order, and EON is a villain.

We should be hearing about Adele's Bond theme song very shortly. It's time for Eon to start spinning that. If it's not Adele, we will find out very shortly who is the chosen one by Eon for this farce.

Adele is expecting a baby very soon, so she may not be able to do it.

I wanted to watch it but missed it. Maybe it will be on again.

Might as well have Kenny G to do the theme song.

HMSS weblog had something curious; A 007 statistic of note
On Aug. 20, an item on Nikki Finke’s Deadline Web site caught our eye, namely that the Twilight movies have amassed 1 million followers on Twitter. By late Aug. 21, that was up to 1,005,694. We were curious, so we looked up the official Twitter site for James Bond movies (a latecomer to the whole social media thing). It had 65,381 followers. The Twilight Saga follows 113 other Twitter users while 007 follows 0.
UPDATE I: Our friends at The James Bond Dossier suggested (on Twitter) that we compare the number of followers for both on Facebook, because Twitter users tend to be more tech savy while Facebook has a more general population. As of early Aug. 22, The Twilight Saga has 34,923,544 “likes” while the official 007 page has 1,097,319.
Not to make too much of this since it may have absolutely nothing to do with the Box Office I thought it was noteworthy because of what Ale and Mazer have said about the older Bond demographic.

On a side note; If it is not Adele it will be a major disappointment to many, unless there are complications I imagine she could record the song long before it (the song) is do so to speak. Without David Arnold it's had to tell what kind of scheduled EON is on.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Emeli Sande given the gig if Adele is unable to perform.

Really surprised we haven't heard anything about a theme yet..getting towards the end of August already.Wonder if they're intending to make a "Big announcement" about who's doing the theme, to get people excited about Skyfail. :?

After the backlash Quantum Of Solace got, the Producers will certainly try hard to get people excited for Skyfall. The return of certain classic Bond elements is one of the ways they're doing this. On the various forums I visit, I've seen some people getting hyped about the return of Q , gadgets/Aston Martin DB5, James Bond theme, and gunbarrel logo. It just goes to show that classic Bond still holds a lot of value.
