You're talking worldwide, right?

So far, we have 9 films gross higher than QOS in the US, and 8 of them passed the $200 million mark. In terms of worldwide, only 5 so far gross higher than CR. Rises will surpass $600 million sometime this weekend. Madagascar 3 needs to pass that mark before their run ends, and it's currently making over $500 million. If M3 make it in time, that leaves the vampires and Middle Earth creatures as the eighth and ninth respectively this year to potentially surpass $600 million. Now we need one more. Les Miserables and Rise of the Guardians are potential candidates. It would nice if we have a sleeper hit this year....like My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Why? It was trying to copy the Bourne films that led to the ruination of Bond in the first place. If this one underperforms, the rationale for the reboot (that Bourne represents the future of the spy thriller) goes out of the window.
Total Recall looks like it is going to crash and burn :007:
One place had it as only doing 7% in presales with TDKR doing most of business. We'll find out tomorrow, the reviews for TR are very bad.

Bourne 4 could be interesting because it is a movie we haven't seen before from the looks of it. Now why Batman and Bourne turned Bond on it's head is a great question because it shouldn't have.

I think I'd like a reboot of Bond just to start fresh after Craig, they could just go back to making Bond films acting like nothing happened for ten years but I think the audience might get pissed, future audiences won't care cause its all old news available on VOD or Blu-ray for years at this point. But first Bond after Craig either continues the I'm a emo Bond all life sucks theme or retools for a more Connery kind of Bond. I'd start fresh but not do the begins things again. Remake some of the old movies but don't use the names (MR, OHMSS, )and do them in order maybe using more of the books than some of the first movies did.

Domestic would do.

Bourne 4 I don't have good feel for its interesting but is it interesting enough to go see. If it falls on its face does it help kill Bourne-Bond if it works does it make Bourne-bond weaker because it a copycat?

What I really wonder is can Spyfall over come QOS, mention QOS and people get a sour look just like Craig had in all the posters  Will people forgive QOS with a promise of a new adventure? I can kind of see people being oh wow there is new Bond movie!!!OMG!, then remembering the last one and thinking maybe rent it for a buck in two or three months. It will also be a torrent for weeks before it hits the us

Twilight and Hobbit will have most of the anticipation there may be also save the money for the movies they really want to see. Might depend on how bad gas prices are too its what screws me over the most.

Conan The Barbarian released last year, and guess what happened? It crashed and burned. Never remake ANY Arnie films.

Bourne 4 is interesting, but without Matt, I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. And Kris is right. The new Bourne needs to under-perform at the box office since it would mean the general moviegoers are leaning back towards escapism. Still though, it needs to gross more than Bond 23 will be....at least in the US. After all, Bourne is an American subject.

Anna Karenina is now pushed back to to November 16. At least, we still have Lincoln, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's rated R.

Summit Entertainment, the studio behind ‘Twilight’ is freaking out about Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal, worried that it will affect cast promotions and box office numbers.
Although they issued a statement saying the promotion tour will go on as scheduled, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that behind-the-scenes, Summit is extremely worried. They expect the news that Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson to be fresh in everyone’s mind, even though it will be months after the scandalous photos were first released on July 24.

“Summit is very scared with how things will turn out. They are certainly putting on a strong face,” our source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

“They are very scared on how the fans will react and if they will have great box office. They expect all the fans will see it once and not come back for repeat performances,” our source continues.

The cast has been ordered to stay silent and not answer any questions about the affair during promotions of the movie.

Now I'm worried. First we got Harry's 6th adventure delayed 4 years ago. Now this? I might not be a total fan of these vampires, but I want this finale to go out with bang....at least for the sake of annihilating Bond 23.

Lincoln is directed by Steven Spielberg, and while that's no longer the guarantee of box-office success that it was in the '80s, it should add something to the total. Probably not enough to beat SF, though, especially as it's on limited release.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be forced to put the past behind them as promotion for the final "Twilight" film is moving "full steam ahead," according to the studio. The president of worldwide marketing for Summit Entertainment, Nancy Kirkpartrick, told Entertainment Weekly, "While it is studio policy not to comment of the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full steam ahead and looking forward to this November's opening of 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.' We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike."

TDKR beat TR by a hair. Going to be a flat weekend, Looks like Universal made a smart move when they postponed Bourne 4, TDK, TR, and Bourne 4 it would be a massacre. Doubt Bourne 4 will bring new life next week but we'll see how the reviews are.

Spiderman has $660 mil maybe they get close to $700 I don't know. Seem like while it did ok it's not the money maker they said it'd be compared to the past spiders it's clear it underperformed. Not going to say it is the cast yet the story is recycled too soon. Same thing with TR, I've seen the movie already and saw it done well.

Robocop is shaping up for more of the same.

If TDKR beats TDK foreign BO ($470 mil) by a little it will look nice even though the US market was cut off hard. easy $800 mil.

The casting of the new film TR is intriguing. Kate Beckinsale is in the part played by Sharon Stone in the original, Jessica Biel takes the role played by Rachel Ticotin and Bryan Cranston replaces Ronny Cox as Cohaagan. Just 21 percent of the reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and 44.5 percent of the notices on Movie Review Intelligence are positive. MetaCritic gives it a 49 rating. Also, "The Dark Knight Rises" will play in China later this summer -- "The Dark Knight" did not -- which could bring in north of $50 million alone. Also, Emma Thomas, his longtime production partner and wife, who tells SFX Magazine that there’s zero chance we’ll see a Batman 4 from Nolan (at least as a director–he’s attached to produce and consult on at least one further Batman film in addition to DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers’ Man of Steel Superman reboot).

As Hollywood faces their own Olympic challenge, battling for audiences sucked into the athletic competitions overseas at London 2012, this weekend's box office sees The Dark Knight Rises once again pulling through to take the top spot over newcomers Total Recall and the third installment of the kid-franchise Wimpy Kid. Here's how the top five fared:

The Dark Knight Rises - $36.4 million, 41% weekend drop / $354.64 million to date
Total Recall - approx. $25.5 million
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days - $14.7 million
Ice Age: Continental Drift - $8.4 million / $131.9 million to date
The Watch - $6.35 million / $25.4 million to date

1. Dark Knight Rises (Legendary/Warner Bros) Week 3 [4,242 Runs] PG13
Friday $10.2M, Saturday $14.8M, Weekend $36.2M, Cume $354.4M

2. Total Recall (Sony) NEW [3,601 Runs] PG13
Friday $9.2M, Saturday $9.8M, Weekend $26.5M

3. Diary Of A Wimpy Kid 3 (Fox) NEW [3,391 Runs] PG
Friday $5.8M, Saturday $5.1M, Weekend $14.5M
Total Recall flops. Hollywood hows abouts no more remakes?

Deadline has it unless TR is a smash overseas no way is Sony making a dime on this.
Sony hasn't had a good year if they have to count the movie they made money on. MIB 3 one place had as Ale said a low ball number of "687.2M" to break even, it made $619,282,611 as of today. At least TR cost $125 + P&R.
Spiderman is another straddling the make money don't make money fence, being the most popular comic book character at marvel should count for more.

Last year's Conan should be explanation why. I have a friend in facebook who said this last year: "Remaking Arnold films without Arnold in them. F*CK you Hollywood!"

I hope the b1tch's upcoming sequel is the next victim, critically and financially. BJ, you know what I'm talking about.
