Last week, at the San Diego comic book convention (the same event where Henry Cavill appeared to promote next year's Superman movie), Imax held an event. Among other things, Imax showed a second 3:01 trailer for Skyfall:

Warning: it takes the writer about 70 words before he even mentions Skyfall, even though that's the subject of the story. Anyway, according to this account, there is a clip of "Bond passionately making out with a woman in a shower (it was hard to tell if it was Harris or Bérénice Marlohe)."

The writer walked out excited? Now I'm worried.

That writer who is more than excited for Bond 23. If Bond 23 surpasses both QOS and especially CR critically and financially, I'm done bringing back the traditional Bond. Bring in Marilyn Manson and other weirdos for Bond.

Spider-man had no competition and basically opened worldwide against nothing. It took in probably 70% of it's box office in 2 free weekends and will be destroyed to third place now by the Bat. Bond 23 opens in the UK and there will be 2 weeks of internet chatter prior to it's opening in the USA. It will be unopposed basically here for 7 full days, except for Anna Karenina. It won't have Spider-man's luxury of 2 free weekends for people to have no alternative choices of films to throw out money on. Bond 23 will be totally and completely OFF THE RADAR once Twilight comes on board, followed by a few other Thanksgiving films of interest and then the almighty dagger in it's coffin, your Hobbit. If it opens with $65 million in the USA do not panic FBF, for the IMAX is propping up Spiderman 10% so it does falsely increase the gross but it will decrease the admissions. Curiosity accounts for initial viewings of Bond..........the REAL money is in REPEAT trips to the theatres to see the films. This film will be so front loaded you could tip over the box office boat in 1 week :!:

With all there is still to go (more showings not to mention DVD sales and more than that all the merchandise, games and stuff related to it) they'll definitely make a profit. And not a small one.

The Q stuff is downright pathetic. I won't even get into it, it's a clear attempt to try and get something like the superhero movies that appeals to the younger demographic, except that's not what Bond is made out to be and least of all Q.

Meantime, Henry Cavill's Superman got MAJORLY positive reaction at Comic Con on Saturday. The movie is getting great buzz now after they showed the first trailer, and more than that, Cavill's personal success was HUGE. Same as Craig, huh? Henry was born to be 007, period. After what Campbell said (I saw you all OVERLOOKED THAT! shame on you!) and with his natural charm and charisma, Cavill would really be a godsend for the Bond franchise... Sony and MGM better act QUICK.

This is Henry at Comic Con on Saturday. He's representing SUPERMAN, yet he looks more like Bond than Craig EVER will.

Image

And, the net is going CRAZY with the Superman stuff and with photos of Cavill and Snyder from Saturday... I think (finger crossed) Henry really may be able to break the "Superman curse".
Campbell is a funny guy he screamed at Brozza on the set of GE "you better not screw this up!!" suddenly he was kid gloves with Danno an actor people who know Campbell know Dan was not on the menu. He is right Cavill has a wonderful story the kind Hollywood can not get enough of, it'd be a perfect storm to have Craig "quit" February or March (after dvd/blu-ray release) then the ramp up to Superman be the ramp up to Bond 24 as well. A few think he might be signed already -maybe- they have all kinds of contingencies in place with franchise this big. At this point I wouldn't bet on it and I wouldn't bet on getting him after 2014 either.

A lot rides on Skyfall, mediocre trailers, Babs and her boy lollipop out lying in interviews for whatever perceived reason, it's a mess. Q in the trailer is not Q of the series I don't know how people will react to it. Spyfall has to make 500m to 600m -minimum, with real competition this time it could be chancy. Not matching Quark/OOS B.O. would be disastrous. This is without concern to how well/badly the movie is received.

Cavill had the kind of reaction at comic-con Craig can only dream of, it's the kind of attention money can not buy and the studio does nothing but spend money on trying to rehabilitate Craig.

If otherwise, time to send in the weirdos for Bond. No, Fat Seagal is not one of them as he's best suited for an unofficial Bond competing against a traditional tall and dark haired 7th Bond.

Mazer, if the stars align right for Bond fans, can MGM opt out of a 4th DC Bond film? The timing is ripe now for a change..........reboots of Superman, Spiderman, F4, and Eon usually follows the trends..............Cavill going from Superman to Bond is a HUGE move and we might have to cool down a certain Italian fan if this happens for global warming will hit Italy if this ever occurs :!: What are the "facts" of Cr-egg's contract for a 4th film? If EA and Sweeney can spread the word on the internet to avoid Bond 23 like the plague, we can then get FBF to execute the ORDER and make sure this film bombs and we can get rid of DC. I think a Cavill as Bond announcement would occur after The Man Of Steel's summer run and Bond 24's filming could start in January 2014 for another November release in 2014. Cr-egg would have to be dropped by April 2013 to create the new buzz of a 7th 007. If it's not Cavill or Jackman, I am done with this franchise. I cannot see FBF and the rest of us endure another horrible choice when two perfect specimens exist, one for the short term 3 picture deal, the other for a 6 film contract. In either case, I want this Q recast immediately. He is horrible in the role and ridiculous and insulting.

I'll wait and see the film before passing judgement. Reviewers sometimes like to read things into films that aren't really there. Check out these rather splendid parodies of over-earnest Marxist analyses on Amazon.

TDK was supposed to be a"love letter" to GW Bush I didn't see it. But a billionaire fighting evil well that only leaves one man in the pres race. ;$ the idea Bane was planted by a director politics is crazy did somebody miss the 1990s ? It's the story is all.
Besides they made the movie long before the contestants were known. Any trying to make something political that's should be careful what they wish for.

That was so stupid. The argument basically amounted to "Batman fights crime and GW Bush fights terrorists so they both, like, fight bad people". You can read any meaning you want into a film if you're determined enough. I have decided that The Avengers was really about the yellow fever epidemic of 1702, which decimated the population of New York City. Because large parts of NYC got destroyed in the film. Do you see?
