No pressure, then. As if FBF or any of us here have any control over how much money Spyfail makes at the box office (other than withholding our £10/$15).bjmdds wrote:Lead on FBFFormerBondFan wrote:This is why Bond 23 has to gross less than both CR and QOS (especially here in the US), IMAX/increased ticket prices or not.bjmdds wrote:DC won't quit now. FBF's influence is enormous on the internet sites. If anyone can achieve the desired results from ORDER 007 he can.......and he will

I think you place too much weight on one person's shoulders. How do you think the poor sod is going to feel if the film is a hit? It will be bad enough putting up with the gloating of the pro-Craigers without making FBF feel that it is somehow his fault.bjmdds wrote:FBF's influence is enormous on the internet sites. It actually did do more Sunday than Friday, but went under $35 million in it's total. It's yesterday's news now with Friday's bat flick approaching. FBF and I will see TDKR this weekend. Anyone else partaking of the movie EVENT of the summer this weekend too?Kristatos wrote:According to BOM, the film dropped only 44% in its second weekend, but we'll see if that's still the case when the actuals come out this evening.bjmdds wrote:Sony is overestimating the Sunday Spiderman box office deliberately again as they did last week to make it look good. Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Weekend actuals are in. Spidey did slightly less than the estimates again, but they were only off by $0.4 million this week, not $3 million like last week.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The trailer begins with Bond (Daniel Craig), wielding his Walther PPK, slowly walking down a hallway towards a room where a man is sitting in a chair. When he finally approaches the man, he discovers that the man in the chair is dead. We see shots of M (Judi Dench) riding in a car and voice-over by Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes), who seems to be speaking with her, says that three months ago she lost a drive that contained a list of every embedded secret agent employed by MI6. And that's when everything goes into overdrive as we get a glimpse at exactly what "Sam Mendes, Action Director" looks like. The trailer has flashes of the big train sequence that we've been hearing about for a while as well as a car chase with Bond in the driver's seat and Eve (Naomi Harris) in the passenger seat. The first montage ends with Bond and a mysterious villain fighting on top of the train with Eve holding a sniper rifle from a distance and getting ready to take a shot.
We then flash back to MI6 where M is being asked by Gareht where Bond is and she tells him that he is somewhere in the South China Sea. When asked why she doesn't have better intel on 007's location, she explains that when you've worked with Bond as long as she has you learn that "somewhere in the South China Sea" is as good intel as you're going to find. And then there's the trailer's big reveal: the first appearance of Q (Ben Whishaw). At first Bond is questionable about his new quartermaster, but Q then explains that he can do more with his laptop sitting in his pajamas than Bond can accomplish in his year. When Bond then asks why Q needs him, it's explained that sometimes a trigger needs to be pulled. For the most part the rest of the trailer is montage, with shots like Bond's Aston Martin driving through the empty desert, Bond passionately making out with a woman in a shower (it was hard to tell if it was Harris or Bérénice Marlohe) and more insanely huge action set pieces, including the subway crash that was featured in the first trailer, Silva silhouetted with a giant fire burning behind him, and even a scene involving some giant construction equipment.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I've read this description elsewhere. I'm guessing it's Marlohe in the shower because one of the U.K. tabloids a few months ago had this breathless description about how Marlhoe filmed a scene wearing nothing but a thong. (That story didn't mention a shower, but it was the only description of a "hot" scene with Craig and one of his leading ladies.)bjmdds wrote:The trailer begins with Bond (Daniel Craig), wielding his Walther PPK, slowly walking down a hallway towards a room where a man is sitting in a chair. The Skyfall teaser trailer to the next installment of a long movie franchise – Bond, James Bond is unimpressively annoying. It flashes couple second scenes played to annoying double gunshot “dun-dun” sounds, and ended with only 15 seconds of good Bond action. Though these couple second bits neither build plot anticipation nor excitement for the movie, it does show a high gadgetry, high tech/CGI and beautifully shot Bond movie with its core intact -- a movie full of action, explosions, gun shots and of course, beautiful seductive women. What’s a James Bond movie without the pussycats?
The trailer packed a lot of scenes in a factual manner without telling the viewer anything about the movie. Fact: Woman standing in Chinese shop; Bond shooting through vast corporate building; M standing in front of dead agents; Bond entering dragon head on rowboat; Bond being seductively shaven by girl; Bond running through London streets; Bond falling between buildings; Bond escaping gun fire and running through exploding building; M and Bond talking while glimpses of the Bond car is in the foreground; Bond’s intent stare; Train wreck rams though tunnel; Silhouette of man, not Bond, running towards burning building. Skyfall. What is this movie about and what happened to the Bond music?
Fortunately for the trailer makers, it is a Bond movie, and there are certain events expected to occur in a Bond movie, such as: the girl who shaved Bond will probably kick his ass after she seduced him; Bond will come up with a creative way to land gracefully from his building jump/fall; and that whitish gray car will probably go through some crazy maneuvers in the middle of busy traffic somewhere. The only odd scene is Bond running in the middle of a busy London street. Traffic looks insanely busy, yet where he is running, there are no cars; as if the cars moved out of the way for him. He should be shown weaving through cars and not the other way around.
The last 15 seconds of the trailer are probably the most intense and fascinating. “…some men are coming to kill us…we’re going to kill them first.” They’re standing in front of a blue neon sign that flashed “something-something-Communications”, and then a jellyfish. Jellyfish image??? Then, the fun begins -- exploding buildings, fire blasting through a tunnel, shooting at people, cars flying off trains, fighting scene between Bond and some guy under water, and fighting and jumping off train tops.
Skyfall is scheduled to open on November 9, 2012 in the US, while UK audiences can enjoy it two weeks earlier. It stars Daniel Crag as James Bond, along with some returning cast – Judi Dench, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, and some new comers – Javier Bardem, Helen McCrory, and Naomie Harris

He already is Q.Alessandra wrote:Well for SURE Morgan Freeman would make a WAY better Q than this youngster. He's got the attitude and that fantastic voice to go with it!
And, press on Henry Cavill and PLEASE look at the photos. He's representing Superman, yet he's absolutely dressed like a casual James Bond... (and that's HIS pick, his style, not like he's in costume as Bond... and surely nobody demanded such elegance for him to represent Superman).
