Trouble is FBF that Babs and Mikey ARE Eon, and therefore own the rights to James Bond.FormerBondFan wrote:Purvis & Wade, along with Babs & Mikey, are ones responsible for screwing up Pierce. They should be removed from their positions and replaced by completely new people just like Batman and Star Trek.
Remove them and Bond fans the World over have no more Bond films.
And
I WANT MORE BOND FILMS!
Only thing to do is have enough money to buy them out...or hope that Michael two sons are man enough for the job.

Craig can come back but he shouldn't.Bond 23: Enough is Enough
IMHO they hit the enough point with Quantum. Casino was brilliant and Quantum turned all they accomplished on its head. While Craig was daring casting his time passed by all that much quicker because of how daring the attempt was. I really don't believe Bond can survive without quickly retuning to its root. Yes, that means Girls, Guns, Gadgets, Over the top plots and other things a section of fandom says they now hate.
Purvis & Wade should be replaced if only becuase they failed to distinguish themselves in 13 years of cranking out pulp. They are not bad writers but I think producers should open the process up to new writers.

I may be mean for this but I'm laughing so hard at this I can't even begin to explain. Poor Craig, I honestly do NOT hate him in general at all. I have nothing against him personally. I just can't stand him as Bond.Or in Cr-egg's case, the Pig Pen.![]()

You are very kind. You call it daring casting, I call it totally wrong casting and absolutely out of left field.IMHO they hit the enough point with Quantum. Yeah I agree with what you say about the not Golden Duo. They aren't all that bad, but they aren't the best either. So new writers should take over. All depends on whether Babs is actually capable of using her brains on this one. And Wilson with her. But most of all MGM. If the bankruptcy didn't wake them up to reality, I don't think anything ever will.

Re: Spyglass near to closing a deal with MGM
Bond 23 needs to be more like the formula Bond films.
New writers
New director (or someone like John Glen or Martin Campbell)
Craig getting to do a third film
Or Cavill taking on as Bond #7 in the 50th anniversary film.
Nahhh, Craig has another film...or two left in him. Probably

Nahhh Craig is quickly withering. Not enough Oil of Olay in the world to save him mate. Catch him at the wrong angel or using an unfiltered lenses, hello grandpa! His bloody co-stars say he reminds him of their fathers that's not sexy outside the deep South (or Utah).
If this were a clip of the CR poster I don't think there we would have a loyal fan base uniting to preserve Bond and protest Craig's action movies using the Bond brand.

Oddly we all seem to agree on young Cavill
I think that young man has the Bond look, Attitude (Good Attitude), and Ability to deal with people.

Ok seriously, you must warn me before you post, for two reasons. Reason no.1 is that I'm laughing like a lunatic in front of the computer after reading the above.Mazer Rackham wrote:Nahhh Craig is quickly withering. I am REALLY glad we all seem to agree on Cavill
There was another comment posting about how polite and classy he was in another occasion, too. But anyhow. I have heard other comments on him, and really, he clearly has the leading man quality. As in big-time leading man. I think the franchise could greatly benefit from having him because of how well-spoken he can be in interviews and how he basically charms everyone. He's like George Clooney, he's got that natural quality and ability to communicate and deal with people. And let's not even get into the marketing angle. Seen many DC Omega ads? Didn't think so. But they would be ALL over Cavill, and not just them. Many others, too. Not to mention the younger women demographic (18 to 34), the biggest-spending demographic that everyone aims at in TV and cinema. Clearly he would bring them in, so Bond would probably also have access to new and enlarged fanbase."Henry is going to be HUGE after Immortals. That film will really cement him as a leading man in American films. And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. Granted he's a great actor but it is nice to see a good guy come out on top as well. When production of Immortals reached the half way point Henry threw a party for the cast and crew, which he paid for. What a class act. Upwards and onwards Henry.
And don't change, there are some good guy leading men out there, ala Tom Hanks, George Clooney. Hope you continue down that route."
To top it off, about the consciousness he would have of the Bond role, and why he could bring more to it, just look at the last couple of minutes of this interview. He is in Tudors costume, beware. But what he says about his inclinations is interesting and he's smart and well-spoken... just a natural gentleman. And it's a video from 3 years ago, so yeah people will complain he looks too young, etc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip-OAY5s ... re=related
My Henry Cavill marketing moment for today shall end here. Sorry if I bored you. I just think when there's such a bloody perfect guy for the role, it would be criminal to overlook him.

Re: Spyglass near to closing a deal with MGM
That's how I understood it.
Though I do think Campbell enjoyed working with Craig, and it wasn't an issue or any on set bitterness toward Craig.
Least not in any of the interviews or the like that I've seen from Campbell or Craig.
The rookie angle was soon dropped when Cavill lost the role. I suspect it would've been explored more had Henry played Bond.
Hopefully they don't attempt to reboot, the reboot if and when HC takes over. That would be a mistake I feel.
Just let audiences accept a new Bond, and don't treat them like idiots.

Re: Spyglass near to closing a deal with MGM
I don't think Campbell ever had any personal bitterness toward Craig. I do know the atmosphere on set wasn't good at all, but that was due to the fact Campbell found himself involved in a film that was nothing like what was originally planned. He wanted Cavill and he wanted to do an actual rookie Bond movie. That's what he was on board with. Instead he found himself with Craig and a rookie angle that made no sense anymore (which made some of the CR scenes totally nonsensical).
About the reboot, they can or cannot do it depending on timing and what approach they pick. If Cavill is picked for Bond 23 because they don't manage to release it timely, then I think they SHOULD reboot. As in "yeah this is ACTUALLY young Bond, we're back to xxxx". Otherwise it would look pretty ridiculous to go from Craig to him without making changes. If Craig ends his trilogy with Bond 23, then they can pretty much do what they did with Dalton and Brosnan. Pretend the Craig part never happened or was simply a stand-alone thing, and move on with Cavill as the new Bond.

That is exactly what they should do by giving reference in the opening scene to that DAD mission, then move on. Enough with this reboot nonsense. It ruined the franchise. Jackman is the proper age for 3 films then switch to Cavill and it is set. But knowing Brocc-oli, she might want Bond to undergo a sex change operation and come back as a female Bond called Jasmine, Jasmine Bond!

Re: Spyglass near to closing a deal with MGM
I didn't dare suggest something so radical, but of course this is the only way to avoid rebooting the reboot. This or just have Cavill take over for Bond 24 and at that point they can just pretend the Craig movies were a stand-alone thing, like they did when Pierce took over for GoldenEye. I'd love to see Jackman, but at this point I don't think that's feasible sadly. Other than his age (he's 42.. yeah I know, looks 10 younger than Craig despite being same age), he costs way too much and already has his own big franchise to look after. But, swoon. I would have loved to see him. Especially back when they picked Craig.Mazer Rackham wrote:I'd recommend going with a OHMSS style opening credit to establish "this is Bond again". How would you know? Campbell was as nice as pie about Brosnan while he was still playing Bond, but then slagged him off when Craig got the role. For that reason, I don't think we'll learn his true feelings about Craig until Bond #7 is cast.Ale wrote:I don't think Campbell ever had any personal bitterness toward Craig.

Re: Spyglass near to closing a deal with MGM
I hope they go with a huge PTS Stunt sequence to Bring Bond back with a bang,But I think the days of Big Stunts are Over as the last two movies have IMHO ben small in scale on the action Front,Sure CR had the crane jump but the rest was basicly a foot chase.Repeated in QOS.Even the opening Car chase in QOS was a very predestrian affair,Nothing special. There was a time when The Bond team would try and workout something never seen on screen before or give an old idea a new Twist.Although I do remember seeing a clip on you-tube with Bond's car being flipped on its side. This may of been rejected from the finished print or merely shot to put the Paps of the scent of what they were really doing. But with Mendes Directing, and Craig and Weisz staring along with Dench, I'm not expection too much action in the next Outing, and then perhaps a slow decline until Someone else Buys the Rights.
