Eon doesn't finance the movies, so it wouldn't be bankrupt even if the film lost money.

But surely EON wouldn't be able to ever get another film off the ground again, bankrupt or no bankrupt.

Probably trying to make their money back on a loss with the sequel, maybe its the idea of bond belonging to them that is worth more then a hundred or two million loss.
I think its like how a poor preforming movie like Star Trek, it didn't make money and Paramount is betting on the sequel being big. If it were apples to apple if $500 million came back to the studio it wouldn't be a problem, what we should talk about is how many millions are going to people for nothing. Half or more of a movie gross is going to who?
Have they done a thing to deserve other than be in position to extort it? well demand it. This why movies are losing money. Hollywood wastes a lot, spends too much but why to theater owners who charge me $10 a ticket and $45 for $15 dollars worth of snacks get all these billions?

Correct big O. Theatres do NOTHING but show the movies. Ten percent is plenty for them. Corrupt collusion is done amongst the theatres. Who allowed such splits to ever happen?

http://www.monkees.net/convention2013/ Davy's 1 year death anniversary has become big business. This is a nice hotel that Chiller Theatre used to be at. It is across the highway from the new Metlife Stadium that the Jets and Giants football team share and where the 2014 winter Superbowl will be played.

To be fair to theatre owners, they are being forced to pay out a lot of money by studios. Lucas started it when he refused to let theatres show The Phantom Menace unless they upgraded to the Dolby Digital Surround EX system developed by Lucasfilm and Dolby Laboratories. Then there's 3D and the fact that film will be phased out by the end of 2015, forcing all cinemas to convert to digital projection. It would be unreasonable not to expect them to past those costs onto consumers, though it's getting to the point now that I can't afford to go the the cinema nearly as often as I used to.

John Carter numbers for Bond 23 so FBF can rest easy knowing DC is gone.

There used to be a lot of dollar theaters where it only cost a dollar or two to get in, and the popcorn was around the same price. There aren't many of them left, unfortunately.

I doubt there will be any left once film goes the way of the dodo. They won't be able to afford to upgrade to digital projection.

There was one near Columbia when I lived there, in fact, it only opened a few years ago. It was done as a deliberately retro thing.

Country:Total Gross MIB:3
FOREIGN TOTAL 6/3/2012 $352,100,000

China: $48,986,152 total. Why is China such a fan of Smith and this film? They are the main drivers of the overseas box office of this junk, comparec to the UK total of $4,600,385. FBF, I can see Bond 23 following the same numbers as MIB:3, so take notice of it's patterns, except the UK will do more for Bond 23, and the USA will tail off weekend two.

What about than less than that? DC's no Smith. Yes, Bond sells not DC. On the other hand, Star Trek Nemesis was released 4 years after Insurrection, which got mixed reviews. Now is 2012, and that is 4 years after QOS, which got mixed reviews as well. Could Bond 23 end up like Nemesis? What's your take, BJ? If Bond 23 surpasses QOS' US numbers even by a tiny bit, I'm done with the traditional Bond.

The traditional Bond has been absent 10 years now. Bond 23 will tank weekend two and we need John Carter reviews out of the UK for 2 weeks prior to it's invasion here so the virus will be inoculated already and the public will be immune to it, right FBF?

My point is if Bond 23 surpasses QOS' US numbers even by a tiny bit, you might as well have Blue Man Group or other weirdos for Bond and forget the traditional Bond. That should be a response to the general public (especially those in the US) of how stupid they really are of giving their money to see a DC Bond movie.

We need Bond 23 to end up like Star Trek Nemesis. Not only do we need more bad reviews for Bond 23 but also more Rebels (non-Bond films) to annihilate Death Star II (which is Bond 23 of course). And BJ, put on the Batavatar or any other non-Bond avatars as everything is preferable over Bond these days.
