I don't watch it but a lot of people do like that show. http://screenrant.com/james-bond-skyfal ... dy-177664/ New Bond 23 video. MP, FBF, Ale, stay home. Shaken, don't stir this box office 1 penny, right FBF? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofnB0sHiw58 "I feel I'm living in a bizarro alternate universe. Ugly is the new handsome. I never thought I would live to see the day when someone who looks like a plumber's apprentice would not only play Bond, but be accepted by mainstream audiences as Bond. Have audiences devolved that much in this decade?

When i was a kid in the 60's i loved watching the 'Munsters' and so did my parents.
It was so funny.....and the look on peoples faces when they met Herman was a scream.
I remember they had a niece? called Marilyn who was a beautiful human girl in their family, and they felt sorry for her, as they thought she was ugly.
Series had a memorable theme tune, and remember Herman's hearse which was in the guise of a souped up dragster........classic.
Now i remember US TV networks remade the Munsters years later, but the show was awful, the guy playing Herman was too short and had no charisma!.......this show certainly didnt get a prime time slot on UK TV......and for good reason too!
Now you say US TV networks want to make another remake...........give us a break........has everyone run out of ideas in TV land?
'BJ' you need to slap a few people on your side of the pond!

Not only that, he didn't even try to put his own stamp on the character. His performance was like a bad pub impression of Fred Gwynne.English Agent wrote: Now i remember US TV networks remade the Munsters years later, but the show was awful, the guy playing Herman was too short and had no charisma!

Brian Williams of the NBC Nightly News could play Herman Munster. He has the exact shaped face as Gwynne for the role. He should quit the biased news he churns out and quit his other show on NBC nobody watches, Rock Center, and play Herman Munster in this NBC disaster. http://images.zap2it.com/images/celeb-7 ... ynne-1.jpg Fred----------- http://blog.cleveland.com/entertainment ... lliams.jpg Brian

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
There were 2 Marilyn Munsters. The first was Beverly Owen who was replaced by Pat Priest. I actually met Eddie Munster, aka Butch Patrick, at a few Chiller Theatre conventions. He was loading stuff into the trunk of his car in the parking lot and we spoke to him.English Agent wrote:What......blinkin heck!bjmdds wrote:NBC is remaking The MunstersAre they crazy? I think this is quite an old article. It talks as if none of the roles have been cast yet, when I know that the pilot is in production, if not post-production.bjmdds wrote:http://www.moviehole.net/201151033exclu ... ers-series http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MHiPrVfdgM Classic Herman

Actually, I just had a thought. Might it be better for our side if TDKR doesn't beat The Avengers at the box office? Nolan's Batfilms are quite grim and gritty in tone, while The Avengers was lighter and more fun. If Bats doesn't do as well, it could be read as showing that the mood of the audience is trending back towards escapism - bad news for Craig, especially if The Bourne Legacy doesn't do as well as MI4. That could be the final nail in his Bond coffin.

Chris' Bat may be gritty and dark, but it's still escapism compare to DC Bond. The gadgets and all. It won't beat Avengers' worldwide gross, but in the US, it's quite possible. The Avenger is fantastical, but there is still some realism in it. One example is Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, who is more grounded in reality than his comic book version.
Bourne Legacy? Get out of here. My money's on the Bat, and if Matt Damon would have done the 4th Bourne, I would've place it in my to see list.If Bats doesn't do as well, it could be read as showing that the mood of the audience is trending back towards escapism - bad news for Craig, especially if The Bourne Legacy doesn't do as well as MI4. As for DC's Bond, EON did copied Chris' Bat and went too far, and DC is starting to look old now. For the signs of nails shutting DC's Bond coffin, we'll need a huge amount of bad reviews for Bond 23 before it reaches the UK theaters. Look at Battleship. That movie released in overseas before the US, and thanks to the bad word of mouth, it sinks badly in the US. Also, look at Star Trek Nemesis. It was released 4 years after Insurrection, which got not-so-good reviews. By the time Nemesis was released, Trek ran out of gas, and we can only hope DC's Bond will follow the same fate.

I stood next to her at a Chiller Theatre convention about 5 years ago while people were listening to a local rock band play at the hotel. She was quite open and friendly to all and aged poorly.katied wrote:What's with all the child stars having financial difficulties?Erin Moran from Happy Days has been living in a trailer park.

Kris does have a point, but then again, the Bat's final round will still be escapism compared to DC's Bonds.bjmdds wrote:Excellent point Kris. You know your movie onions. FBF, what say yee? Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
I agree entirely with this sentiment. Nolan's Batman films have their virtues (though I'm not a huge fan of them either - more mildly positive about them) but they've been a huge inspiration for the Babs/Craig disaster era Bond has been put through recently. So I think that TDKR underperforming would be a good thing - it's about time all this angst got purged from popular cinema.Kristatos wrote:Yes, and it would be nice to stay awake for it.FormerBondFan wrote:Why not? Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
And I agree with this too. I also think that Batman will give us actual catharsis, since Nolan's Batman is a hero worth rooting for. His sacrifices and final triumphs over his enemies are genuinely moving, in a way that sociopath Daniel Craig mindlessly murdering people never can be.FormerBondFan wrote:Kris does have a point, but then again, the Bat's final round will still be escapism compared to DC's Bonds.bjmdds wrote:Excellent point Kris.
