I didn't like Toby that much, he was OK he wasn't sean Connery or Hugh jackman good at defining the role, his spidey missed some of the cool things about him. But I like Garfield spidey even less. From what I've seen it's like they are trying to make it more about his parents, and wheoever was behind it. leave it alone, the origin story as it was in the first movie was decent, the organic webbing was wrong but the story was dealt with story pretty well until l SPidey 3. I think they are trying to add too much emotion into another creation story.

Normally you get one advert for a film, but there were 2 for Spiderman, and the second one was at least 3-5 mins long, couldnt believe it, i thought i had gone into watch the wrong film. It looked quite good though..........but after the recent Spidey films it remains how well received the new Spidey will do.
How is the advertising going down in North America for this film?

I read that the Spider-Man test screenings got a bad reaction so they are tinkering with the film and showing you all the best stuff in the trailers to make it look good. You never know, it might be ok. There is a sense though that it's too soon to be rebooting Spider-Man and that they are only making this film to retain the rights.
Ale and I totally disagree on Garfield's Spiderman. I predict a dud lucky to do half of what Tobey's did.
I rather see Garfield's Spidey make more than Bond 23 at the box office than the other way around, especially here in the US.

November 21:
NEW IN THEATERS DISTRIBUTOR RELEASE
Life of Pi
Adventure Fox Wide
Parental Guidance
Comedy Fox Wide
Red Dawn (2012)
Action FilmDistrict Wide
Rise of the Guardians
Animation Paramount (DreamWorks) Wide
The Silver Linings Playbook
Comedy Weinstein Company Wide
You know what, with these 5 widescreen releases just 12 days after Bond 23, and featuring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler, and Chris Hemsworth in films, after following Twilight 5 days earlier, I now believe Bond 23 is DONE after just 3 days opening here in the USA. Internationally depends on how other countries want to shell out money to see Eon's DREK on film. The Hobbit will really nail the coffin in this one. If it opens UNDER $60 million, see you DC on the Eon unemployment line in 2013 :!: FBF, things are shaping up just as we wanted. Order 66 is under way :!: "Order 66 was one of a series of contingency orders that the posters of the DCINB forum were trained to prepare for during their growth. The order branded the green vegetable and MGW as traitors of the franchise and called for their immediate termination from their positions without question. Its issuing by FBF marked the formal beginning of the Great Eon purge, starting with the rise of the DCINB forum to greatness. " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09n0qd_n4c0

Spiderman comes out 2 weeks prior to the Bat conclusion. The Bat will BURY Spiderman's fate when it opens. At 165 minutes, TDKR might have fewer showings per day and this might cut into the box office gross UNLESS most multiplexes have it playing in multiple theatres in their own buildings. It has the potential to beat the Avengers opening weekend in the USA. What might detract from this film is Catwoman though. She does not go over well as a villain people want to see in a Bat flick.

We need more Anti-Craigs to see the Bat's final battle on the opening night. For Kris, I can understand his situation.

One of the 5 widescreen releases has to be on the 9 here in the US. Movies that released last Thanksgiving weekend did not get much attention mostly due to those vampires.

And I wouldn't call this Order 66. That was done by EON when they horribly dismissed Pierce. All the non-Bond movies we have this year, particularly those this holiday season, are our Rebel Alliance, and we need them to destroy Bond 23 (Death Star II).

They gave Brosnan the shaft. He survived. We want Eon destroyed as the head of the franchise. FBF's order 66 will attempt to do just that. The Death Star awaits :!:

Order 66 was Babs' idea, and that was the Pierce's unfair dismissal from Bond. The Death Star II is Bond 23, and we need every non-Bond movie this year to destroy it. Twilight, Hobbit, Rise of the Guardians, The Great Gatsby, Les Miserables....everything. We need more rebels to curb Bond 23 from this year's top 10 list as well as from get nominated from any high profile movie awards, especially those in the US.

And BTW, tickets for the Bat's final battle will be on sale, starting Monday of next week. I'm buying for the opening night, and you shall do the same BJ along with every Anti-Craigers here. Let's show that the Bat's 3rd round is a definite escapism even though it's dark and realistic.

I HOPE Bond 23 is NOT in the top 10 boxoffice grossing films of 2012. That is an important point FBF, soon to be FSTF.

FSTF is no longer an issue since Simon Pegg denies anything about Khan being next villain. And I rather want Ben as Khan than pay to see Bond 23.

My friend who owns a big entertainment site and says Daniel Craig is the spitten image of Barney Rubble from the Flintstones (HE IS!) just said this re: Craig and Skyfall "it's like an evil James Bond from a parallel universe". There, the perfect summary of my feelings.

Ben is not Khan.

Anyway, we will deal with Trek later. Right now, what we need to worry about is make sure we have enough Rebels (non-Bond blockbusters and other films) to knock off Bond 23 from this years top 10 (especially here in the US) and from entering into the ballot of high profile movie award nominations, especially those in the US. It will take more than just Katniss, Avengers, the Bat, vampires, and Middle Earth folks to obliterate The Death Star (DC's Bond). We need more Rebels.

Thanks BJ, the reported $150 million is the old news story before the press conference. So we still will not know until the movie is close to coming out. I doubt they could do it for less than $200 million but maybe they'll surprise us.

MIB 3 and Amz Spider-man will be interesting to watch how well they hold over, MIB had big drop but because their first weekend was a holiday nobody is really looking at how badly it dropped. I don't think they'll make a dime on it but it'll be a record setting mib if they don't count inflation. Bo mojo domestic inflation adjuster Mib $423 million & mib 2 $260 million

I'm surprised Ale thinks $170 is a reasonable price for Snow White it seems like it should be a smaller budget it can't be that big a movie it going to be just about done after next weekend, it makes John Carter, CVA, Battleship look well budgeted.
