You missed the point here. I don't want recastings for Iron Man the way Bond did. And like Chris Nolan said, comic book stories don't last long in film so if Downey Jr.'s out, Iron Man should retire.Omega wrote:why not plenty of stories to use, bond only had 14, potter 7FormerBondFan wrote:I don't think any other franchises should follow the example of Bond.Omega wrote:Iron Man easily could be recast in smart way and kept alive for a long time, so could Nolan's Bat, if they don't make a big deal about changing tone or directors, Bond used to do it smart be easy for another movie series to pick up the basics of how it is done and keep making Iron Man.

Ensemble superhero casting is now the wave of the next decade of films FBF. How will Iron Man III relate to the Avengers now?

Too many people with not enough sense, it's as dumb as Beckham calling his kid brookyln or what other place he just went by, wouldn't be surprised that when this kid grows up it will want it's name changed.bjmdds wrote:Everyone, welcome SOLO UNIACKE![]()

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
Bond 23 cannot compete with Daniela Transvesta in the role with these other franchises. You need a NEW likable Bond with Cavill in the role. Downey crossed over as Stark and Holmes, so Cavill can cross over with Superman and Bond. Daniela Transvesta will succumb to the poor film she/he is is doing this November. It's all over for him now, or else it's all over going forward for the franchise. He really put the "egg" in Cr-egg in this film and with Star Trek, and The Hobbit and Iron Man III, etc., who wants to be exposed to a waxen, lemon faced, smug, lug like DC any more? He's done......fork time FBFFormerBondFan wrote:What does that mean for Bond 23?bjmdds wrote:Ensemble superhero casting is now the wave of the next decade of films FBF.

Depends on its legs. According to Box Office Mojo, Avatar was only about #20 on their worldwide openings chart (The Avengers is #3, behind two Harry Potter films). So the opening weekend bodes well, but it needs to sustain its momentum.bjmdds wrote:Avatar:Domestic: $760,507,625 27.3%

Great post on the latest Skyfall thread on Ain't It Cool...
The one problem I have with Craig is that he always comes across as a Gen-Xer more interested in being considered edgy and aloof than someone who plays James Bond. Previous actors like Dalton and Brosnan treated the role with a great deal of respect- as if they were members of a very exclusive club. By comparison, I've yet to see a Craig interview where he doesn't say "f**k" every other word or seem dismissive of the previous films and actors. I don't think he means to do any of it on purpose, but he still comes across as a complete ass nonetheless.

We have said this from day one, so why is the rest of the planet catching up to us now? Daniela Transvesta is a bum.

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
AICN has been friendlier than most to the anti-Craig viewpoint, even going back to the Casino Royale days. Don't know what Harry Knowles' position on Craig is, as I'm not a regular reader, but I've often seen anti-Craig comments in the comments threads on my occasional visits there (pro-Craig comments too, of course, but I've never got the impression that a pro-Craig orthodoxy was rigidly enforced the way it was at MI6 or CBn).bjmdds wrote:We have said this from day one, so why is the rest of the planet catching up to us now?

Re: The BJMDDS General Discussion Thread......
The Skyfall threads have all been about 50-50 so far. Never seems be a middle ground with Craig. It's interesting that the Skyfall thread has few posts while threads posted around the same time about Ridley Scott's Prometheus and Arnold Schwarzenegger making a new film are far, far more active. I know it's very early but I'm not detecting any buzz for Skyfall yet. Harry Knowles likes Craig I think. AIC gave positive reviews to both DAD and QoS so seem to be kind to any old rubbish that Barbara Broccoli serves up.

James, DREADFUL will be a huge mistake for Eon and Sony and MGM, the ostriches who bury their collective heads underground are have no clue as to public opinion on DC. http://bicycle2011.com/wp-content/uploa ... n-sand.jpg With all of the other huge guaranteed hits due in 2012, Eon's creation may not be in the top 10 at the box office.

I thought it was a master stroke when they cast Judi (Dench) way back... because the character... became this female figure, there was a maternal aspect to it.There was much more complexity in the relationship and I think we've taken that a little further." (These statements bury this film. I said this film would feature Prozac like plots. Now Oedipus complexes as well? It's all over FBF......no need whatsoever for Jerry or Steven)

I struggle with depression having to witness tedious Daniel Craig and the other incompetents destroy the Bond series.bjmdds wrote:"Dark times ahead: Bond will struggle with depression and wonder if his career is going in the right direction.": "'We've gone further into their relationship...
