Obviously their first use with 'Avatar' was a bit special, as there was a great deal of 3D images in the film, and it was new to everyone..... but
since then using the glasses with lets say lower quality 3D films doesn't seem to have any real benefit from a cinematic experience point of view.

The prices are a bit of a rip-off, being some £1.50 more than seeing a film in 2D...in fact the total 3D price is somewhere around the £9 mark, for you typical multiplex.

The main thing though is.....with these glasses, everyone wearing them looks like something out of 'The Fly' :D

LOL, the fashionista that I am, I REFUSE to do that. NO way I'm wearing those things, especially if they don't match my outfit! Plus, those 3d things are anyway not really my cup of tea usually, I prefer a :martini:

I need to see the hotties on screen properly. What, if a film is made by ugly people, I won't go see it. If I want to see ugly people do depressing stuff, all I need to do is open the door of my house and look out. Kind of explains my attitude toward CR and QoS better I guess

I haven't seen many 3D movies-I have no interest in doing so, plus the charge(added to the already exorbitant prices at movie theaters) put me off.

So far, Narnia 3 and Tron 2 are the only ones I've seen in 3D.

Speaking of Narnia, I'm bit worried here since it's losing momentum.

Until they can get rid of the glasses 3D will not really take off, But I see nintendo have a 3Ds with a 3 inch screen and it has 3d without glasses so I guess the tec is in the pipe line.
Having said that I've yet to see a Movie Improved by it. and with the likes of Saw7 t's a complete waste of the process.

I saw 'SAW 7' ('i saw, saw'...get it...no, never mind :)) in 3D, and really it didn't make any difference to seeing a 'SAW' film in 2D (there seemed to of been only a handful of 3D effects in SAW 7).

Anyway, the new 3D technology as showcased in the film 'Avatar' was very very good.................but to me truly 3D means being able to watch an image, without having to wear artificial aids (like some sort of BORG), and that the 3D image is created solely in the film and doesn't need converting....when this will happen, dunno!

I dont think a Bond film made with the new 3D technology would enhance the film, to a point where it would be a more rewarding cinematic experience.
What would enhance a Bond film is a bleedin good story and characters though!

Well back to 3D, if a Bond film were made in this format......most people here would only complain that they could see imperfections in DC's face (BJ's head would surely turn 360 degrees, just thinking of such a thing).....just joking! :D

Apparently, 3D without glasses is in development. Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope....

What helped HDTV take off -if it ever did "take off" was a government mandated standard. 3D works well when done right for the right types of film. All of this fell on deaf ears when the studios execs saw they can get X amount more for a 3D ticket.

I agree Bond doesn't need 3D. I'd be happy with a good story and a reduced ticket price, to drive up attendance.

I think YOLT would have looked good in 3D, had modern 3D technology existed back then, particularly the scenes in Blofeld's base. A chance to witness Ken Adam's masterwork in 3D would have added to the spectacle, IMO.

Good point about YOLT... that probably would have benefited from a different type of technology. I still don't see the necessity for this for normal movies. I think it does add to the action scenes maybe? Car chase, explosions, etc, sure looks more spectacular in 3D. But in the end what I care about most at the movies is the STORY I am watching and the ACTORS in it. I'm talking about normal movies of course, not sci-fi. I can of course see how sci-fi greatly benefits from 3d technology.

EEEEEKKK Craig in 3D  Wait a minute, I've seen him in person  Nothing scares me about him anymore. Poor chap, he's nice enough (not spectacularly nice, but not nasty even LOL).. he's just so insignificant I hadn't even noticed him in the bar, if it hadn't been for the fact he was talking to the owner. But no, a close up of his skin in 3d SUPER enlarged is not something I'd look forward to. Thoughts, BJ?

You say Craig doesn't scare you.............well he aint out of some horror pic is he?

Haha, in your dreams I was after his autograph. The bar is owned by a friend of my dear New York friends, and that was the sole reason why I went. And, hadn't it been for the bar owner being a friend, I wouldn't have even noticed Craig. He was chatting with the bar owner, that's why I noticed him.

LMAO well I'm sure BJ would have something to say about him not being out of some horror pic.. I said nothing scares me anymore because after seeing him in person, I know what he's like  Just a joke... he's really not attractive to me but of course he isn't a monster, poor chap. Just really average. (for me, of course, that doesn't mean for everyone).

haha, a domani... fai il bravo eh?

Cr-egg in 3D? Only as mad Renfield in a Dracula remake. THEN, seeing his facial features corrode turning to profile would enhance his role as a raving lunatic worthy of a job well done!

Please don't make any Bond films in 3D. It doesn't need it.
It certainly doesn't need Daniel Craig in 3D. These are supposed to be action movies, not horror films.

Instead of 3D they need a way of Streching Craig to something neat 6 foot 1 or so,and giving him some Dark hair, I know this will be expensive But The Producers Love spending Money on their "Star".
Might have been cheaper to go with a Younger,Dark haired, Taller Actor in the first Place. BUT WHO WOULD OF WANTED THAT ! _.//

To say nothing of it being a gimmick. Not only that, they can charge extra to see a Bond film. Thanks, but I'd pass.
