Nice wrap-up, but I feel it needed some sort of McGuffin to explain the transformation, like Bond falling through a time warp or something.

I considered something. But I decided if Skyfall really attempts to have Craig/Bond end up, more or less at where Connery/Bond started at Dr. No...well, if they could do it, I could do it and just take it a step further So I opted for The Twilight Zone approach where there's not necessarily an explanation (i.e. Howard Duff episode where he's doing something and all of a sudden he sees a film crew off to the side, telling him he's merely an actor playing a part.


Chapter 31 was my idea for the original ending (based on the rooftop scene we know is there because of the clapperboard shots). Then it emerged there are a couple of more scenes after that.
